It's not just subgroups Mike. If the person is a member of several groups then he may have different profiles set for each. So if the group profile has been set, an edit to his master profile may not

First, the @UserName field needs to be unique across the Groups.io platform so if someone else somewhere in the world has used the name he is trying to, then he'll need to choose another. This field

If they accept the invitation, they will never go to NC.? NC will only be applied if they join via email or on the site.? And then, only if they've never had a Groups.io account using that email
