First, check your email delivery to see if they're bouncing.? If not, then they're being sent to your email address, so the problem is with your email service.? If that's Gmail or Exchange (or a service using them), then they're very helpfully not showing messages you've sent.? You can contact support to have them add your service to the list for those that need to be modified to be received.? See

Thanks, Bruce. I'll follow up today and try to see can get done.

If you want an mbox import, you need to be on Premium Yearly. If you haven't read it already, see /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Moving-to-Groups.io#Upload-Services for info.

I did read that, but some of the details I need were missing there, and there's nothing at all on the official documentation past. It seemed the way to get it going was to "email support", so I'll do that a second time.

Fingers crossed!

Mike

Missing emails

A strange problem.
I do not receive emails of messages posted on the website.
They do appear on the actual website.
I receive emails from other members.
I am set to individual emails.
I am the Group Owner.

Initially, I'd put this member on moderation until I'm satisfied that he's regained control of his own email account. Options available are in the Posting Privileges block of his subscription record in the Member List.

If he can't regain control then you'll have to boot him off the group. Once he gets a new email address you can then consider letting him back in.

If it becomes a problem with more than one member then you may have to consider forcing all message delivery to plain text only (see Message Formatting in your group Settings). Most of those who engage in phishing do not spell out the entire link URL but instead hide what's really going on behind the html.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

What's the normal response time from support?

Mike -- There does not appear to be a "typical" time. My response times have ranged from "under an hour" to "never got anything back at all."

I sent an email on Saturday and haven't received anything past the initial automated response. I don't want to just start emailing again if this is a normal time frame to expect a reply, but I also don't want to miss getting an answer if it somehow got lost in the shuffle. I'm an owner of a premium group if that makes any difference.

Yes, that makes a difference.

I was checking with them on importing a large group. We'll have two MBOX files with a total of nearly 70,000 messages and about 660 members. Their imports seem to enable back-dating of messages, while the script doesn't, plus the 40 messages/30 minutes throttle means it would take about 40 days to import them using the script. We'd also like to back date the member join dates.

If you want an mbox import, you need to be on Premium Yearly. If you haven't read it already, see?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Moving-to-Groups.io#Upload-Services?for info.

Frankly, very few people have inquired about this, much less reported any success getting it done.

Does anyone know the answers to the above or do I need to wait for a reply from support / follow up with them?

I think it's time for you to send a follow-up message. And if you do get this done, please report back on your experience so we can appropriately update the wiki entries.?

My original message wasn't approved because I was told to read the email more carefully.?I was told the email?said??8 PM Pacific today, 3 am UTC tomorrow.

I know that but it contradicts what the homepage note says

?

Note: groups.IO will be down for maintenance this evening, starting at 8pm Pacific Time (3am Thursday 4/16/2020 UTC), for up to one hour.

?

Note the date - it says Thursday 4/16/20

?

So whoever didn't approve my original message didn't read it.

This was my original message

The letter that Mark had sent doesn't mention a date so I assumed it was tonight, however, the notice on the group's pages is talking about 4/16/20 which is tomorrow. When is the outage going to be? Leeni

Leeni -- There is no discrepancy. It is already Thursday, the 16th of April in England. That's what UTC means.

Cannot upgrade the account. #upgrade

I have a project with the premium subscription.? Our credit card was compromised and I updated with a new card.? In the meantime Groups.io downgraded me to the free version.? I added the new card but the system is not picking up the new card and I am stuck in the free version.? I cannot upgrade, nobody at Groups is monitoring the phone number shown on the invoice and nobody responds to [email protected]?email account.? I need to upgrade to enterprise but cannot do it.? I need some help here but nobody seems to be home.??

Go to the groups.io home page at?
On the left-side menu bar, pull down the Hashtags menu and select "Followed"
On the resulting page, click the "Follow a New Hashtag" link at upper right
Enter the desired information into the resulting form fields and click the +Follow button

The only info available is what you see. Except you can add notes like surname.
/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-members/adding-moderator-notes-about-individual-members?single=true

I am not sure what happens if you download the list after you have added notes for a member.?

Frances

What I would do is, download the member list. This is in CSV format, which makes it easy to import into your favorite spreadsheet program. I would then use the spreadsheet column to split the name column on the middle space. This assumes that the data is regular, that is that everyone has a first and last name and that those are properly inputted into the membership list. Once I had the column split into two, I would then sort the spreadsheet on the last name column.

Best,

Glenn
