I generally reply directly from my email client (Thunderbird). That does expose my email address to the other person, but I'm not much concerned with that in most of my groups.
I'm using Thunderbird, too. I was trying to answer through the web cause I wanted to reply using the +owner address.

Anyway, as I said,
now I understand whhy I can't reply. The "+owner messages" for this person is completely empty.
Is it a possibility that a person can send an email to the owner and delete it if their mind change later on?

If you're seeing the message in the Activity log, and the Subject text isn't a link to the message, then the message was sent from a non-member. Groups.io does not store non-member messages to +owner nor provide a means to reply to them.

Confused. We have an option for receiving non-member messages. We should be allowed to reply these? messages with the +owner address as well, methinks :)

Thanks for all your support. It's really good to have this list where we can learn about this platform. I'm advancing really quickly with my lessons thanks to this group :)

I finally imported a database.? However, I thought I should probably test out the export feature to make sure the DB rows could all be exported properly.? I tried this multiple times and the only row that would export was the HEADER row.? I tried selecting rows thinking that was preventing the actual lines to export properly. That did not work either.
Has anyone figured out how to do this?? If so, please provide short summary of the steps.

I do CC my reply to the +owner address as well as Reply-To the +owner address, that way the other owners stay in on the conversation. In Thunderbird Reply-To is an option just like CC and BCC.

I can see the activity, however not a link for replying. Interestingly enough this is the only email with this characteristic.

If you're seeing the message in the Activity log, and the Subject text isn't a link to the message, then the message was sent from a non-member. Groups.io does not store non-member messages to +owner nor provide a means to reply to them.

I'm not exactly certain why that is, but perhaps such messages are more likely to be spam and there could be a lot of them, wasting space. I could see a utility to storing them for a limited duration, or limited amount of storage consumed, with auto-deletion after that.

It helped a lot.
I'm used to check these messages through the activity page because it iss how I've learned.

Anyway, now I understand whhy I can't reply. The "+owner messages" for this person is completely empty.

Groups.io does not store images in calendar entries, and the Event Description editor provides no tools by which an image can be inserted. Therefore, you cannot paste a photo from your computer desktop and have it appear in the calendar.

What's probably happening -- when it works -- is that you are selecting an image from another web site and pasting that into your calendar. In doing so, the paste inserts an <img> tag containing the URL of the original image. It is not stored in groups.io, but is instead pulled up from the other site as needed to display. If that URL later changes or the image is removed from the original site, a broken link will appear instead.

If you want to be able to do this reliably, I suggest you upload your images to cloud storage (Google Drive or some such) so the URLs remain static and you have some control of when the images get deleted.

You can always try to send them another bounce probe. Select Bouncing from the pull-down menu, tick the checkbox next to Display Name to select all, then select Send Bounce Probe from the menu at the bottom of the page. If you want to remove them without sending them any notice, go to Admin>Settings>Member Notices and see if you have any active notices of type "Goodbye." If so, open it and make it inactive (uncheck the "Active Message" box) temporarily until you complete all the deletions.?

In practice, however, they will probably never even know.?

Recently, one of my groups turned up 75 bouncing subscribers...~11% of the total. At least 4/5ths of those were people whose Yahoo Mail?accounts had been disabled due to inactivity. I painstakingly went through about half of these accounts, checking activity history...not one of them had posted or really done anything since we transferred the group here 16 months ago. Many were lurkers who had never posted at all.

They are now gone. Why cling to a laundry list of email addresses that can't receive any messages? Our message archive is viewable even without a subscription; and if anyone on that list has an alternate address and wants back into the group badly enough, it isn't that hard to resubscribe.

Yes, I felt a little guilty about it...but the feeling soon passed. :-)

I have a bunch of bouncing members that I would like to notify or remove.
To notify I may be able to get the better address from another related site, but that will be a lot of work.
Is there any other method of getting rid of these people without them thinking I am the bad guy for dumping them?

No.

That is not currently a Groups.io feature, but perhaps it ought to be. Something like that is done in the boilerplate portion of Invitations (though not under the control of the group owner/mod). I think this means that there is no technical barrier to doing this.
I think the only tricky part is deciding on the syntax that triggers substitution, and the list of things that can be inserted. The Invitation preview uses the form [name], but $name might be just as good.

I'm really sorry for all the questions on a same day. I promise this is probably the last one for today :)
Still talking about goodbye messages and the like, can I quote the person's name on my goodbye message using a variable or something like that?
Like, if a person has their name showed as John Doe, a variabel, for instance $name, would take care of replace itself with the person's name on the email sent.
Putting it better, if I write
We're so sad to see you go, $name ($name being just an example), then it would be converted to the person's name on the email they would read.
So, is it possible at all?
