Shal,
To clarify, you author the document as a docx, copy/paste the content to a
message that you send to the group, and > then upload the docx to the
group's Files section. Have I got the right mental picture?
Yes. That is correct.
Why would a member find it easier to troll the File section than the
Messages section?
I don't actually know, this is still in development the files section so it
may not even hit the final product.
That's not really rhetorical, I'm trying to understand the use case.
I haven't fully decided if I'm gonna leave the files section apart of this
thing or not.
Oh, and speaking of PDF, I always recommend that over doc or docx for
sharing content with others - unless it is a > > close community and you
know they have the tools for dealing with doc or docx. PDF also has the
advantage that most > browsers can open the file directly, rather than
requiring a download.
It's a thought, the format of the file doesn't matter. If I don't bother
with the upload, I may just switch to PDF storage of the content before
creating the message.
The goal is to at least automate the message sending based on information
stored in a file, or in a database because that info is updated throughout a
period, say daily, and at the end of the period it needs to be dumped to the
list.
I'm not against other ideas for this project.
