The basis of our wanted posting rules are:? "Out of consideration for all members, no more than 5 WANTED requests per month are allowed, including repeated requests for an item. Repeat requests should not be posted more often than every 7 days, or twice a month maximum."
So when are they numbered??
- Some are numbered by the person posting the wanted themselves.?
- Some are numbered by the moderators on approval.?
- Its driven to help the other moderators keep track if someone is making a lot of wanted posts.
The way I as a moderator approach it is as follows:?
- No wanted posts this calendar month and only one wanted in the Que?? No number, just approve.
- No wanted posts this calendar month and MORE than one wanted in the Que?? Number them!
- One or more wanted posts in the past 7 days?? Number the new post(s)
- The last wanted was more than 7 days in the past, and only one wanted in the queue?? No number (saves me me time approving)
- The only caveat is if the latest wanted post is the 5th, I number it regardless.?
Why so complex of logic?? Why not number them all? ?
If a person spaces their wanted posts 7 or more days apart, they never get numbered, and I can just hit the approve button!? That again saves me time in the approval queue.
Doing the math, spacing wanted posts to every 7 days, and you will never exceed 5 in a calendar month.
