Improvement
Hi all,
I just got back from seeing my family Dr. and I have good news. I had a CT scan three weeks ago and there was improvement over the one that I had in Jan. My family Dr. asked if I was on any meds and I said no just flaxoil and cottage cheese. He was interested and I told him about Dr. Johanna Budwig and where she lived and how I came across this site. He marked it all down in my chart. I'm sure I'll get more info from the oncologist when I go next month. I'm sure that I am going to tell her that I feel that I don't need to see her as much as I have been. I'm on "cloud 9" Janet |

Melanie,
Even though you directed this to Bronwynn... after just looking, Sandra has already put the message in the files. It is in folder 6 with all the other testamonials. Hers is the 6th breast cancer one. Karen's name is beside it (there are some other very impressive ones right next to it as well!). Enjoy! Martha --- "Melanie King" wrote: should be shared and recorded in our files. Re: Crohn's disease
Mike,
THe BP should be a great way to help control or heal Crohn's. It is a protocol that works hard to decrease inflamation and increase proper cellular function so the body can work most effectively. I was just looking yesterday at the "inflammatory scale" for flax. You would be hard pressed to find anything to reduce inflammation more that is natural. Here is a link for the nutrition facts on flax. Scroll down about half way and you will see the Inflammation Factor rating. It is 823 which is "strongly anti-inflammatory" It is also worth looking at its many other wonderful qualities! It is no wonder it is the basis of Budwig's Protocol! Hope this helps. Re: Fear of doing the Budwig Diet only.
Rebecca, Dr.Lee advices against Femara. Please read his book " What your doctor may not tell you about breast cancer". This book really opened my eyes on a lot of aspects of breast cancer along with hormone replacement therapy. Please read it, it may help your husband too, although it is designed for women I am sure men can benefit too.

I will never forget the first oncologist greeting us sarcasticaly when we entered his office, " Here comes the man who is committing suicide". Our adult children and many friends also think we are mad and have made it clear that they do not agree with his decision for the past three years to refuse chemotherapy and hormone treatment. A recent rise in his tumour markers ( after breaking the rules for a period of several months) have made him seriously question his decision to deal with cancer with the protocol. However he is now back on the programme and hoping to find a sympathetic doctor who will prescribe more blood tests and moniter the rising levels of CA 15-3 in a months time. Depending on the results he will consider taking the Femara ( Letrozole) hormone treatment his oncologist has been advocating. I wish you both well with the programme and look forwrd to reading any good new recipes you might invent with permitted ingredients. Adding the fo/cc to the ensure would help add some "live" food to it, but it should be only the beginning of helping to get your father on a healthy diet. My first concern though would be that it would make the ensure thicker, not thinner. My next concern is that ensure has so much sugar and sugar feeds cancer. Also, there is not much in any can that can provide what the body needs in a way the body can use it. Most is artificial or synthetic, not living or at best altered. Budwig's protocol is so much more than the fo/cc. She has provided an outline of healthy balanced living for the human that can just about assure us of the best health that we were meant to enjoy! Fresh fo/cc provides an electron rich food that the body can quickly use to help to bring a balance back to the cells so they can function properly. The other foods (in BP) are much closer to their natural state and are still live (perhaps better said, closer to having been living and growing). Start to add more of the protocol as quickly as you can. There is a learning curve, so give yourself time, but with a goal in mind. I would try to add some fresh vegetable juices to help get him more nutrients without filling him too quickly. Carrot and beet would be good to start with. THis should be done several times a day til he begins to have an appitite. THis should help to gently "flush" his system and allow for more improvements. Is your Dad able to move about to stimulate his system? Please describe his condition in more detail so ideas for helping can be better fine tuned for his need. My feeling is that he has no appetite because his systems are stagnant (digestive, lymphatic, and probably respiratory systems). They need to be stimulated to move in a gentle way to improve his overall well being. I hope this has given you some ideas to start with. THere is so much information in this group site. Spend time as you can reading through the files, search posts for topics you are curious about, encourage your Dad to do this as well. He needs to feel good about where you are going. Print out the information that was sent in your group welcome. It is itself a wealth of information and the best place to start. If you choose to follow Budwig's protocol you will be more than surprised at her depth of understanding of our body's needs and her ability to provide an incredible outline for living healthy! Hoping his appetite picks up quickly! Blessings. Martha --- "sherwincsablon" wrote:

Ensure would NOT be Budwig compatible. Have you read the ingredient list? I don't know how they can even call it nutrition. To me it's just another reminder of how little the medical profession understands about nutrition.

Hello,
I have a good friend who's son has crohn's disease. Its quite bad, they keep operating on him to remove a portion of his colon. He's only 16. Re: Flax seed
Nelson Doucet
Angel,
Budwig used the word "spoiled " within 10 to 15 minutes. From her book FLAX OIL AS A TRUE AID....., page 22, "When flax seed is rough-ground the beneficent fatty acids, that is the threefold ones, the very best ones, will spoil rapidly---within 10 to 15 minutes." She goes on to warn that this is particularly harmful. What spoils in ground flaxseed, as in any nut or seed, is the oil content and rancid is a very good description. Even if it does not taste rancid it will begin to break down very quickly due to exposure to light and oxygen. If you cannot eat it fresh or in a protected state it may be best to skip on occasion. Nelson Rhoda et al, Then why did JB say it must be eaten within 10-15 minutes? I just read that in her first book but don't have the reference handy. Angel |

Go to any good wine store, and get from them a simple kit for prolonging the life of wine and champagne. It is a kit with a little pump and 2 special plastic corks that create vacuum in the bottle, and thus the preservation for longer time. It is inexpensive. Gubi ----- Original Message -----

Re: Tumor Growth + Fatigue, then healing??
Bronwynn, hi,
BC experience here: I can remember my affected breast was incredibly tender and swollen during and post allopathic treatment. My memory is terrible, but I do recall waking up a couple of months into the BP and realising it no longer was swollen and felt normal for the first time in nearly two years. I also would like to put my two pennies worth in too; remember that this group is no different to any other group of people, we (me too) only let you all know what we want others to know. Each person's idea of 100% compliance is different. We also try to be strong for each other, knowing that any admission of a sneaky treat, an odd coffee (whilst still having success on the BP), would send everyone else grabbing for the milk chocolate. Before everyone starts advising me not to veer off the diet, I am not. I just have my own interpretation of it. Which is very strictly adhered to. Except for the occasional rest for my liver from the FOCC mix and one coffee once a week. Which I did not enjoy this morning as all those wonderful mails kept reeling through my head about the poison it's doing. The point I am trying to make, is each person interpretation of the diet is different, just as some supplement, which is not supportive of the protocol. Further, (sorry); and I am sure you know this already, with breast cancer you should avoid dairy, with the exception of the organic cottage cheese. I have found some wonderful, and quick recipes in the Jane Plant book. Hope you find this relevant B. Michele |
Tumor Growth + Fatigue, then healing??
I have been encorporating 90% of the BP for about 6 or 7 months now. Started it while still doing chemo and stopped chemo around 4 months ago (I think, my memory is all messed up) Anyhow, point is. For the last 8 days I have been doing the protocol 100%. Every single thing. And aroundd 4 days ago my breast (the original tumor) began to swell.
Today it is the most swollen it has been. I am in no pain, anywhere. I have also been fatigued for the last 3 weeks or so. I am wondering if the fatigue usually accompanies the swelling that occurs before a tumor is dissolved and healed. So, far, my body has correlated with all the thing you all and Budwig have said it would. My pain disappeared just 2 days after starting BP 7 months ago and has not returned. The swelling in my spine has fully disappeard as well. From what I have learned about this protocol, the newest tumors dissolve first and the oldest last. This has proven true for my spinal tumors which showed up last and healed first (although I am only basing "healed" on the fact that the swelling went down and pain completely disappeared - no follow up scans yet for personal reasons). Am hoping that the fact that the swelling in my breast is not painful means it is in fact the typical protocol swell that occurs directly before healing. And I do not believe it is a coincidence that the swelling has started at the same time that I have chosen to 100% follow the diet. I am just asking for confirmation from you all that this is true. How long can I expect the swelling to last? If actual breast cancer people could respond also it would help. Does it seem logical to assume that this swelling is the presumed "good swelling" since there is no pain accompanying it? How many of you found it true that your healing of tumors occured with most recent tumor formations first and oldest ones last? Thank you all for your time and support :) |

I don't think it would be a shot in the dark to say that almost all of us who have fully committed to the Budwig Protocol went through exactly what you are going through right now. For me, it has been just the last few years that I have begun to learn how to get answers to questions that my brain simply could not produce. For the majority of my life, I ignorantly spent MANY wasted hours and much wasted energy "up in my head" so to speak when it came time to making important decions. I am so happy that I have found, for me, a better way to handle such matters. For many it is important to do research and couple cold hard facts with logic and common sense when making an important decision. I know that is the case for me. But I find it interesting that no matter how many facts I gather, it is ALWAYS my deepest inner truth and wisdom that leads me to my perfect desired outcome. Many people have responded to your post with AMAZINGLY important, relevant and useful information that I think will serve, at the very least, to comfort you. Information on chemotherapy and Johanna Budwig and stories of their own experience. When making my decision to do this protocol 100%, I did much research as well. I even began implementing it into my life while still on chemotherapy. That was the easy part. The hard part came when my heart and soul began to tug at me and point me in another direction. I was diagnosed with Stage IV Her 2 Neu (Very aggressive) cancer. When I found out the statistics (a mere 2 % overall survival rate), I intellectually understood that chemo simply could not offer me what I was aiming for. My doctor agreed. He knew he could not "cure" me and even went so far as to tell me that "cure" was not even a word that oncologists use anymore. So, I knew I had to find something else. I suggest you and your husband go within for your answer. That is what I knew I had to do. After much prayer and meditation, I found my answer. And it was to commit fully to this protocol. It is important to learn to quiet the mind when searching within. The spirit harbors no fear. And in my experience, fear based decisions have never led me to my destination. In fact, they have ALWAYS led me straight into the mouth of whatever beast I was trying to escape from. It is the human mind and emotions that recognize, create and respond to fear. The spirit knows nothing of it at all. When we can free ourselves of fear and any attachment to outcomes in general, the present moment will grant us just that - a present. The answer will ring true inside your being. But be careful, once you have discovered your truth, your mind may start it's chatter again and try to convince you otherwise. People in your life, doctors, commercials, family and friends will express their truth. And it may look very different than yours and your husbands. But I implore you to stay true to your own discoveries. The benefits one reaps when doing so are great. For, me, living in my own unique truth has been the greatest joy of my life. I am no one to tell anyone what is right for them. I can only say what is right for me. And for me, this is right. One day in mediation an idea came to me. It said "Ask the website owner at healingcancernaturally.com (where I first discovered the BP) if she knows of anyone who has recovered, totally and fully from Breast cancer". So, I did. And she posted my question to this group. I got many responses. They were supportive and sounded great but not what I was looking for. Then one day a woman named Karen shared her story with me. She is on this site. And she had recovered fully and totally, by only using the BP. She watched her tumors disappear right in front of her eyes. And I will forever be grateful for sweet Karen my Angel. It is through her that I got my answer. I ran with it. And I have never looked back. I am now in remission and doing well. Hope this helps. All answers lie within. "Cindy Becker" wrote: I read your messages every day, and find comfort in your thoughts.
