Re: flaxseed oil and thyroid

Thanks for your reply. I do use Redmond RealSalt which contains 50+
trace minerals, including iodine.

it is not bleached, kiln dried, heated, or altered with chemicals or
pollutants.

I have used it for over a year now, but of course, when eating some
processed foods (not much) or eating out, know I get into regular
salt. My doctor has cut me down both last year and again this year on
the amount of Synthroid that I use because she said my numbers on the
test was too high and that I was getting too much medicine. Perhaps
the salt is making a difference.

I have also started using coconut oil for cooking because it is
supposed to stimulate the thyroid. Have also added selenium to my
daily vitamins.

I was just concerned about the statement about flaxseed oil and the
thyroid.

Vanessa,
When I read that you got a breast cancer even after you took flaxseed
oil and good omegas when pregnant, it makes me feel sad that taking
flaxseed oil didn't prevent you from it. Why didn't it help? What was
done wrong? I do wish this time flaxseed oil does what we believe it
does for you and speeds up your cure and recovery!

Hi Donetta

A more important web page to read from the curezone relates indirectly
to your problem:

Budwig's use of natural unprocessed foods instead of processed foods
with processed salt may be the solution to your hypothyroid problem
You may be able to get off Synthroid by using unprocessed sea salt
along with kelp/seaweed foods?

I have been taking 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil/ccheese for over a
year now, but also am hypothyroid (controlled with Synthroid
medication).

There is reference on curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=55&i=777 that
flaxseed oil shouldn't be used by people with hypothyroid problems.

Carolyn.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I am 51, was diagnosed last year when still 50. I probably have had this for at least a couple of years, but recalling certain symptoms I believe onset was in my mid 40's.

I will keep you informed of my progress which so far has been very good with chemo and JB, dietary changes and some other herbs and supplements including every mushroom out there. My last catscan showed a 50% reduction in my larger tumours but only slightly decreased adenopathy in my abdomen and lymph nodes. Still decrease is decrease and I will take it.

One thing that kind of bothers me is the pain I get from my tumours. It bothers me because they seem to hurt when thy are shrinking but I can't figure out if the pain is because they are shrinking or growing. My onc says no one knows. Mine hurt and are shrinking so when I have pain I say to myself they are shrinking.

Anybody know anything or have experience with this?

Syd

Syd,
These are two different things. Colonoscopy is the gold standard and
the one to request. Polyps can be removed during the colonoscopy.
Sigmoidoscopy is limited because it only covers the first portion of
your colon - up to the first major bend in the colon.

Syd, how old are you? Just curious. A few of my relatives have had
colon cancer at very young ages, including my father when he was only
39.

Please keep us informed of your progress. Tell us what works and what

handy stainless container

In case I did not mention it in a previous message I would like to
mention the ease with which the Budwig blends and mixes can
be made in a stainless steel frothing mug you see in coffee
shops. It holds about a quart. It has a fist gratifying handle so if
you want you can drink out of it, and a good pouring spout. It
works well with my Braun hand-held mixer, and leaves almost
no waste. I bought mine at a restaurant supply store for about
$7--they also had one for $15 but I could see no difference.

best to all,

Re: cabbage juice - SALT

Angela

Hi! may I ask some questions?

1)Why to avoid SALT?... is there any specific instruction from Dr
Budwig to avoid salt? I usually use gomashio (10 parts sesame seeds +
1 part salt)as a seazoning for my lunch spread.

2)I also had difficulies preparing cabbage juice (bat smell and
taste) and I am not sure how much salt I must add to prepare
sauerkraut and other fermented foods. If anyone can advice...

3)For what I know, the use of sauerkraut is important because of the
lactic acid and the lactobacillus acidophillus it contains -- please
see --
which promote a better absorbtion of the diet ingredients, enzimes,
etc (please, correct me if I am wrong)Both, as well as other foods
are PROBIOTICS -- What I do is to take home made acidophillus rich
low fat yogurt instead of the juice. Any comments?

Thanks,
Angela

Hi, Nelson.

Yes, I think the cabbage recipe in the files needs some checking
into
and tweaking. I made a large batch exactly according to the
recipe, and
it is undrinkable because of the taste. There is something rotten,
rather than sour about it. The juice from the soured cabbage I
made
using soured vegetable started was very good. But the recipe from
the
files made juice such that it is only good for watering plants
with.
Anyone else have similar results? Or can somone point out what I
might
have done wrong? I did cover the liquified cabbage immediately
after
putting it through the blender, so I do not think some wrong
microorganism got into it. The recipe actually could not be more
straightforward. I cannot understand what happened. At least it
is not
expensive to make, so negligible money lost.

Elliot

Thanks, Karine.

I haven't actually started the protocol yet. I use flax oil and flaxseeds all
the time but have never eaten cottage cheese. I must admit to finding it
repellant. But I am psyching myself up for it.

I had chemo friday -[ Abraxane -[ and have my hands full just taking care of
my son. . .

I am waiting for the Budwig books to come in teh mail, I actually got one, it
is quite short and not very specific as to HOW to acheive the results. But I
havne't given it a lot of attention. THe cookbook one seems like it will be
more helpful on a practical level.

THanks for your kind thoughts. I think that xeno-[estrogens caused the cancer
and the mammogram angered it and the biopsy spread it. Plus I was not
getting enough sleep.

sleep is a factor here.

With my particular diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer, with mets to liver and
bones, the prognosis was 18 ms to 3 years at diagnosis, with conventional
treatment of chemo. My liver was already shutting down in Feb. of 04.

I tivo Dr. Phil, and last night I was watching Friday's show. It was a
Mother's day special, and they focused on a mother who was a stage 4 BC with liver
and bone mets (same as me) and Dr. Phil emphasized how "she was terminal" and
had 18 ms to 2 years from time of diagnosis. And they were stating it as if
it was an actual fact, that this healthy looking woman in her early forties was
doomed.

So...if I accept the conventional prognosis, I have at most, another year and
a half left. Way too little for this active 43 yr old, who just got back
from snow skiing at Mammoth this week-end, and still has alot of travel and fun
to have.

So I'm here, I'm learning every day how to better adapt myself to the Budwig
protocol, and I'm hoping for a much better health prognosis than what
conventional time tables have for us.

Hi, Nelson. I see that I did not dilute the cabbage juice with 2-3
parts water when drinking it. I will try that to see if it makes the
juice more palatable. If not, I am going to use cultured vegetable
starter in the next batch.

Re: Companion Nutrients

Hi, Wilhelm.

Thanks for your answer. I did remember that in Cliff Beckwith's
collection of testimonies, he did mention that some patients have
successes using Companion Nutrients in place of cottage cheese.

I'm a bit desperate as cottage cheese (organic or otherwise) cannot be
obtained here where I lived. I tried making cottage cheese (refer to
message #28958 Alternative Cottage Cheese recipe), but with little
success.

Forgive my ignorance, but my father's prostrate cancer condition is
getting worse even though he has been on FO+fresh/skim milk for about
two months.
