Re: chemo and JB

Carolyn.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I am 51, was diagnosed last year when still 50. I probably have had this for at least a couple of years, but recalling certain symptoms I believe onset was in my mid 40's.

I will keep you informed of my progress which so far has been very good with chemo and JB, dietary changes and some other herbs and supplements including every mushroom out there. My last catscan showed a 50% reduction in my larger tumours but only slightly decreased adenopathy in my abdomen and lymph nodes. Still decrease is decrease and I will take it.

One thing that kind of bothers me is the pain I get from my tumours. It bothers me because they seem to hurt when thy are shrinking but I can't figure out if the pain is because they are shrinking or growing. My onc says no one knows. Mine hurt and are shrinking so when I have pain I say to myself they are shrinking.

Anybody know anything or have experience with this?

Syd

Your friend should get sigmoidoscopy where they put a scope up you and look at the colon, also known as a colonoscopy.
Syd,
These are two different things. Colonoscopy is the gold standard and
the one to request. Polyps can be removed during the colonoscopy.
Sigmoidoscopy is limited because it only covers the first portion of
your colon - up to the first major bend in the colon.

Syd, how old are you? Just curious. A few of my relatives have had
colon cancer at very young ages, including my father when he was only
39.

Please keep us informed of your progress. Tell us what works and what
doesn't work for you.
