Hi Dana.? I just read a great explanation in a previous email about the mistletoe.? Jeff injects it just under the skin and gets a red "rash" reaction and sometimes very itchy.? Apart from that he has had no side effects what so ever.? I truly believe the Budwig diet is keeping him so well and long may it continue.

Take care and blessings back to you.

Re: Budwig protocol / kefir

Hi Jackie, the important part is to remember, your kefir or cottage cheese needs to have 10g of protein. If you are going with Kefir than you need to drain the liquid and the left over will be a cheese texture ready to use.

Dana

First, you place the Kefir grains in cow's or goat's milk to create Kefir.? Then you must DRAIN the kefir to remove most of the whey (about 65% by volume, I think - not sure).? You can do that by draining the kefir in CHEESECLOTH.? What remains in the cloth will be "kefir cheese", which will be about 10% protein.? Prostate cancer & white button mushroom ADT substitute

Hi all, as some might remember around 7 months ago I reported that I was substituting dried white button mushrooms at 15 mg split into the two f/s cc mixtures daily instead of a three monthly Zoladex injection.
After the first 3 months my PSA was 0.7 which was lower than the previous one under Zoladex

I then decided to halve the dose, as in the original trial one of the two with zero readings was on the lower dose ~8mgs daily.
After my second 3 months my PSA was 1.7, still below the 1.9 for my last 3 months on Zoladex but have decided to revert to the 15mg daily dose of dried white button mushrooms.

Going without Zoladex and just on the Budwig Diet resulted in a doubling of PSA every 6 weeks to 24 when I tried it for six months in 2015. It seems that my Pc did not respond well to the Budwig Diet alone during that time, but the other health benefits were well worth it.
?
Now at age 85 I have no health problems, am not on any medication thanks to Budwig and the mushrooms and have a PSA well under the norm for my age. Considering that in in early 2014 I had a TURP on a prostate that was 70% tumour material; Gleason score 7, that is pretty good.

I hope this will help those who cannot afford the $1300 for each Zoladex or equivalent injections, the dried white button mushrooms have worked for me over six months, twice the period of the original trial.

History
After my first PSA of 79 in 2009 I tried two different anti cancer alternative supplements over three years but my PSA rose to 95 and in 2013 after being on a partial Budwig Diet (still eating fish) I had a bladder shutdown, PSA of 138 and needed catheterisation for six months before I could have a TURP. Then I was on the full Budwig Diet plus Zoladex to reduce the prostate size prior to the procedure in April 2014 . A Nuclear scan in 2013 showed hotspots in the right hip area and most of the left kidney but were not considered definate metastices and a follow up scan a year later showed clear.?

????????????? My prayers and well wishes to all, Julian

Re: MISTLETOE & alcohol abation

Hi Izabela, Thank you for your interesting email. It is really too bad that there was nothing to show a visible improvement. Some people claim to be cured by it alone and I think quite a few come with the same feeling that you have. Maybe it works differently for everyone. Your 'Alcohol Ablation' is one that makes us stop and want to know more. I have never heard of it and I cannot imagine that many have. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and especially the 'new therapy' that worked so well for you.

Hi Dana,

When I had papillary thyroid cancer, I saw a naturopath who specializes in thyroid cancer and he prescribed mistletoe ?to me (amongst other supplements).? The mistletoe was for self-administered subcutaneous injection, not an IV.? The initial reaction is temporary redness, subtle swelling and itchiness at the injection site (abdominal fat tissue).? This is an indicator that the dose is correct.? Once the body gets used to the mistletoe the reaction lessens or dissipates and a higher dose is prescribed.? I did it for a while and can't say I felt anything or noticed any changes, but I never had any symptoms from the cancer anyway.? I stopped doing the injections after I found a doc at the Mayo clinic who pioneered the use of alcohol ablation to kill the cancer within the nodule, simply by injecting a needle with pure alcohol into it.? No surgery, negligible pain, outpatient procedure, I have a well working thyroid intact.? I'm afraid I'm not helping to really answer your question well, but that was my experience with mistletoe.? Oh, and by the way the naturopath only saw post-surgical cases, but I was the exception, so mistletoe was never presented as a cure (though maybe he thought it could be . . .), but rather as a way to avoid reoccurrence.

All the best to you.

Gini Newcomb

I received my test results from Navarro today. I am in the US.? I mailed my urine sample on 8/21/17 by USPS Priority Mail.
?
Your HCG Test Result on 09/16/2017 is:
??? Index + 4,(53.0 Int. Units)
?
This is within the POSITIVE range(0 I.U. - negative, 1 to 49 I.U. -
doubtful[essentially negative], 50 I.U. & above - positive). A POSITIVE
result indicates the presence of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone
found in the urine of pregnant women. Numerous medical reports show this to
be present in the urine of cancer patients. However, the result must be
correlated with the medical information(X-rays, CT Scans, Ultrasounds, MRIs,
etc.,). A biopsy procedure confirms the diagnosis of cancer. The elevated HCG is possibly coming from remnants(microscopic or otherwise) of the stage I B cervical cancer . This serves as the baseline result.
?
Results can go up to 10,000 int. units or more especially in testicular
cancer, some uterine cancers ( H mole and choriocarinoma ) and germ cell
tumor. However, most other cancers have results anywhere from 50 to 80 or 90
IU. The result must be correlated with the medical history? together with
other pertinent medical information (X-rays, CT Scans, Ultrasounds, MRIs,
etc.,). The test cannot determine the stage of the cancer but when it is
done on a serial basis, say once a month, one can follow and monitor the
progress of the disease.

Monica,
I can only personally speak of the Navarro HCG test. I use it to track my progress.
From my understanding, there is no blood test at this time that is lung cancer specific. However, there are ones that can track cancer (generic) in the body. AMAS, which is covered by Medicare is one, I believe. You have to order the kit and then go to a drawing station. As I said, these tests are NOT lung cancer specific. They are only good in determining IF you have some form of cancer, and then use future testing to track your progress.

Others on this site will be able to give you better info on the different blood tests and their value.

Thank you for your prompt reply.? Just two quick questions:
?
1) You mention the HCG urine test -- are you using the Navarro test from the Philippines or do you have another source? My friend is based in US so would prefer a local source.
?
2)? You also state " There are other blood tests that will confirm whether your friend has cancer or not."? May I ask which tests you are referring to?

Hi Maria,

What type of breast cancer your mom have? Mine is HER2+ met to lung, liver and bone. I also have effusions that made me cough with chest pain. My doctor put me on double target therapy, Herceptin and Lapatinib. The cough persisted until a week after I changed to vegan ketogenic diet and went daily hiking.

After being on double target, diet and exercise for 4 months, all the metastasis disappeared leaving only one small nodule at the breast.

If your mom is also HER2+, target therapy may help. ?I read that there is research in Netherlands that these 2 medicines effectively eliminate HER2+ cancer cells.

Hope your mom will get better soon.

Nodules can take a while to dissolve and disappear even though the cancer is no longer active. At this point they are benign. As you stay on the Budwig plan, they will eventually melt away. I hope you're able to keep stress at a low level.

THe HCG urine test will show cancer activity, so why , in my opinion do a biopsy which could prove harmful. There are other blood tests that will confirm whether your friend has cancer or not. You don't need, at this time, to specify WHERE the cancer is. You already know that. Your friend just needs to track it. On blood tests etc. others will be of more help than I. I hope this has been helpful.?

Re: Suspected lung cancer: Next steps after pet scan

Monica,
I can only personally speak of the Navarro HCG test.

Tom,

Thank you for your prompt reply. ?Just two quick questions:

1) You mention the HCG urine test -- are you using the Navarro test from the Philippines or do you have another source? My friend is based in US so would prefer a local source.

2) ?You also state "?There are other blood tests that will confirm whether your friend has cancer or not." ?May I ask which tests you are referring to?

Dear Monica,

I am sorry that I cannot give you a solution but I am against radiation to the lung. In 1996, my mother deteriorated immediately after radiation to her lung cancer cells and passed away in 2 weeks. She was only 60. That is one of the reasons why I have no faithful in conventional cancer treatment. We didn't know anything about alternative treatment at that time. Technology might have improved but I cannot believe burning our body will not harm.?

If cancer grow slower in older people, alternative treatment will not compensate his quality of living.?

Recently I am doing traditional sauna to boost my immune system. As I believe in hyperthermia, breathing in hot air makes me feel good and healthy. You relative might like to try it. Good fresh air in the forest will help too. My cough was gone for good after hiking everyday for a week.

Hope the group will give you more valuable suggestions.

Wish him all the best, Annei?

Hello Monica,
?I am sorry your friend has lung cancer. I too have lung cancer. I was diagnosed one year ago, and have refused all conventional treatment ( I am 77). The onocologist gave me two yrs if I did nothing, which was one year ago and I still feel fine. I opted against a biopsy because it may cause spreading of the cancer. No more PET or CT's either because of the sugary dyes used ( and radiation).

I changed my diet to no meats, dairy products, eggs or sugar. I eat vegetarian and follow the Budwig diet fairly closely. I do have an occasional xray (every 6-9 months) to check nodule size. Dear Group

I am hoping that a few of you out there who have experience with lung cancer can help me. I have a relative (in late 80's) who recently had a pet scan with a finding of "lung mass is consistent with malignancy." ?The size of the mass (also termed "nodule") in the report is" 2.6 cm x 2.4 cm, maximum SUV 5.8" ?and "abuts the major fissure and has two pleural tails" (not sure what the latter means) No other nodule or mass was identified. An appointment is scheduled with the pulmonologist next week. ?In preparation for that appointment, I would like to ask the following questions:?

1. Is a biopsy the only way to definitely determine lung cancer? ?My concern is that a) this is invasive and b) one test seems to be leading to another and then additional scans are scheduled .... it never ends . ?

2. Since we know that the body uses "encapsulation" to ?sequester irregular cells, ?what are the dangers with a biopsy for lung cancer -- e.g. could it cause metastasis elsewhere?

3. ?Assuming the answer to 1 is yes, ?given the size of the nodule, would it be prudent to just go straight to alternative treatment such as Budwig Protocol?

4. ?The doctor has mentioned something like 6 radiation treatments but I don't find a lot online about radiation. Seems like it might be external beam radiation? Does anyone have any experience positive or negative that they could share with radiation treatments for lung cancer? ?

5. Given that the patient is late 80's and lung cancer seems to have a high tendency to metastasize , what questions or factors might guide your decision as to whether to proceed with mainstream or alternative treatment? ?

When I have tried to research lung cancer online, all that comes up are a lot of medical sites devoted to mainstream treatment. You rarely see patients blogs which is why it is so nice to be able to come before this group and ask these kinds of questions.

Thank you very much
Monica
