Re: Image Files for UV9R Pro vice CSV for UV5R, BFF8?
The software from RT is a bit more polished than CHIRP. I can't say it's better, but they do tweak it to work on more radios. I think their way of getting repeaters near you to fill up your memories

Re: Image Files for UV9R Pro vice CSV for UV5R, BFF8?
Tony Ross nailed it. ?This is the way to do it in Chirp. I was able to take the config file from my Baofeng BF-F8HP with 78 repeaters and a few PL¡¯d simplex channels and copy it onto my Icom 2730

Thanks Tony Re: [Baofeng] Image Files for UV9R Pro vice CSV for UV5R, BFF8?
Hi Tony; Thanks for the feedback! So I initially did what you say, download the new radio image file, copy my existing frequency list CSV file into the radio image file and save with a new name.

Re: Image Files for UV9R Pro vice CSV for UV5R, BFF8?
Quite easy ... open 2 tabs in chirp-next. In one tab, load the image file, in the 2nd tab, open the csv file. Then select everything in the csv file tab and paste it into the image tab, then upload

All programmed, nowhere to go!
All programmed manually, receives voice and repeater id, signal appears on TinySA on or near correct freq (same as old icom ht) but no audio to repeater or it fails to key repeater. Just finished test

Re: UV-5R Dual band mod to 220 MHz band
I followed the instructions to the T. In fact when it did not work I went back through to be sure I did not miss something. Is there a certain firmware version that is working? I did not have the same

Re: UV-5R Dual band mod to 220 MHz band
para que el UV-5R trabaje en la banda de los 220 Mhz, les recomiendo usar el programa CHIRP, escogen RADIODDITY y el modelo UV-5RX3, lo configuran abriendo el rango de frecuencias y asi lo puden usar

Re: UV-5R Dual band mod to 220 MHz band
Rodney, I am sure you cannot get anything from the manufacturer in the way specifications for spurious signals (harmonics, etc), but I imagine the FCC has specifications for allowable spurious signals

Re: UV-5R Dual band mod to 220 MHz band
Did not work for me. The radio will take the frequencies and key up but there is no transmit on the spectrum analyzer and no receive. Thought I would give my results. Darrell, AF4E

I had the same problem with a UV5R with an external speaker/mic. The mic element is mounted flush on the internal PC board in the external speaker/mic. There's a round fixed-formed tube on the inside
