I have had success with other such problems by flooding the power
switch with a solvent such as CRC QD (quick dry) Electronics
Cleaner, repeatedly working the switch before the solvent dries, and
then trying to power-up after everything has had time to dry. I call
it magic snake oil, available at almost any auto parts store in a
red and white spray can.

Donald,
Thank you for the suggestions.? Yes the battery cannot be
installed wrong since it only fits one way.? I did clean the
contacts and still nothing.
I am suspecting the Power switch as it has always been the biggest
complain of other owners.
I should have purchased the extended warranty and now I am kicking
myself.? I will try a couple of other groups but do not hold out
for much hope.
As a last resort I will get into the radio and see if I can see
anything.? Thanks again.
