Good idea Brent. I belong to several groups that thin out the lurker’s every so often.

Quality over quantity, any day.?

I'm sure there were many lurkers, many who did not feel they could contribute. It might also be good to thin the ranks of inactive email accounts. A lot of the lurkers are those that only come to the groups, what are not heavy users, and only look when they have a problem, instead of skimming the post and learning ahead of time. Just like face to face groups, sports, hobby or social. There are the doers and those that are just along for the ride.

The other group had almost 14,000 members and maybe 25 ever posted.? We are already at 100 members
and each one had to come and join themselves so while not a large number, if the 25 main people join, we
will be back to normal with 100-200 or so real members.

Hey guys, I saw someone commenting in one of our other topics about this, but we ARE
100% trying to get all the "active" people from the old group.

The situation is and not many know, but the old group had 95% spam and bot accounts.? That
is why it was never really?active at all with so many members.

I feel, and I could be wrong, we could have as much or more activity, if we just keep going like we are now.
Like I have said since day one, this is YOUR group and its is going to have what people want.? Yahoo was
more limited, but this site offers much more.? If something is not working like you want just ask.? We could create
hashtags, sub groups, photos, files and so much more.

Thanks Rich. I’m looking forward to what’s to come with this group.?

My suggestion is to try a couple things and see what the group reaction is. If you do subgroups, would there be a moderator for each subgroup?

Do we need subgroups? I don't think there's enough traffic to warrant that, but maybe there's more than I think.

I don’t know if we need subgroups or not. It was just a question I had ?
