Magic happened and both the Watch 5 and iPhone XR went back to normal behavior just like that! Setting new reminders on Watch now appear in the correct location on the iPhone and the Watch battery

Try doing a soft reset on the watch by holding down the crown and the side button until you see the apple logo. Also did you reboot both devices? Also, you haven't mentioned what version of OS is on
