Some one posted an article about how upgrading makes the devices resync and rescan for search inquires, and it may take a few days since they are background chores.?
I would leave the two phones on and then check them in a week before making any ra$h move$.
Hmmm. ?Guess I’ll wait to see if the battery drain issues improve. ?Right now both seem to change from day to day — very confusing. ?I just removed at least half of the apps from the 5S and checked the Settings to turn off location services for most. ?Perhaps that will help.
As far as changing to Consumer Cellular, I can’t imagine they offer service for the price of adding a line on ATT. ?We share minutes and Apple ID. ?

BTW, has anyone else noticed that the "increase quote level" in Mail isn’t working? ?When I respond to this group I copy, paste and increase quote level to separate the message to which I’m replying from my answer. ?But when the digest arrives, the "increase" doesn’t show up. ?Very odd.

Why not replace the battery?in the 5s? It's fiddly?but can be done. Just take your time.?

The battery on my DH’s 5S is running down too fast to be useable. I usually pass down my old iPhone when I update. However, my 7 has a cracked screen and also has experienced accelerated battery drain since iOS 13.
It would cost $200 to get an Apple replacement for the screen on the 7.? Since it has been running down too fast lately, it seems nuts to spend so much on it only to give him a phone with problems.
He doesn’t use his phone for much more than calls, messages and Safari. Any suggestions about what model would work for him for a few years and not be crazy expensive?? He’s not interested in the “latest/greatest.”
