Many people who never complain simply accept, unquestioningly, whatever comes their way. I suspect most of us are like that.

Re: Post your links here if you can.

Why is that a big security risk??

If they want in they can get in. Give a person a roofie and then unlock the phone. If you can't trust those you sleep with you have bigger problems than them opening your phone.

If your dead, you don't have much to say about what happens or care. Unless you are a super secret agent or drug cartel.

You can turn off the feature if you are worried about it, but it sounds more like a storm in a teacup.

On another list that just moved to groups.io, another member and I have posted photos, and they show up in the emails as a default. I do not know that options the admins have.

We can have a photos sections here on the site, but they have a limit on how much storage else you have to pay.

So are photos important to you and how would you like the group to work?

In the past, I did’t wait too long before installing an update (certainly not 90 days for a security update). ?Maybe a week to see what happens. ?

Interestingly, for the very first time that I can recall, there were articles out before the 13 update appeared, suggesting people delay. ?It was already known that 13.1 was close on the heals due to already discovered bugs. ?So, I did wait till the update came out.

Only to find 13.1.1, followed by 13.1.2 and now 13.1.3 all within a few weeks of the initial release of 13.

I agree that in the past it appeared that the issues were not wide spread (the 500 out of 1M). ?Not so sure about this release.

I don’t know if 13 is an anomaly or warning that things are getting so complex for Apple that they are not as able to release clean software.

Time will tell. ?Yes, I did update to 13.1.3 already. ?Fingers crossed.

I am one of the 999,500…. No problems whatsoever with the recent updates…
However, if my livelihood depended on it, I would probably wait 90 days or so before applying any update...

Re: Slow syncing

开云体育

Good morning all,

Since updating both my iMac (2013) to Catalina, and my iPhone 7+ to 13.1.3 my Notes are not syncing as they use to.

They still sync, but it’s extremely slow, sometimes not happening until overnight while my phone is plugged in charging.

It doesn’t matter if I add/change a note on my phone or Mac, either way it’s extremely slow to sync.

I rely on my Notes for everything, and I do mean everything! ?

I have 171 notes.

I have turned off syncing on my phone (Settings/Apple ID/iCloud/Notes), and on my Mac, and shut down both. ?This removed all my Notes and it took nearly an hour for them to re-appear on both devices.. ?

Calendar has been having somewhat of the same issue with syncing, but not quite as bad.

Any suggestions to speed up syncing would be greatly appreciated.

Janet

Reminders app was behaving just like Notes is for you — s l o w to sync. ?parts would appear and disappear on my iPhone and iPad. ?Now they seem to sync like they did in iOS 12. ?

However, my Watch 3 no longer syncs reminders with my iPhone 7 and iPad Pro. ?I updated to 13.1.3. ?Rebooted. ?Nada. ? I really miss that feature.

After spending 3 hours on the phone with an Apple tech, the problem remains. ?

I'm sure there were many lurkers, many who did not feel they could contribute. It might also be good to thin the ranks of inactive email accounts. A lot of the lurkers are those that only come to the groups, what are not heavy users, and only look when they have a problem, instead of skimming the post and learning ahead of time. Just like face to face groups, sports, hobby or social. There are the doers and those that are just along for the ride.

Volume Problem

MC Black

Ladies & Gentlemen

I have noticed (since updating the Operating system to 13.something) that when I'm listening to AudioBooks downloaded onto the iphone that the volume resets to the mid point on the scale rather than maximum (where I need it because I suffer from severe hearing loss).

I'm listening on BORROWBOX - which is provided free by Hertfordshire Libraries

I have only noticed this since changing the OS and suspect that's the cause.

Any suggestions, please?

With best wishes and thanks
