Re: VIDEO
The more I use it, the more I like it. The Up Next section keeps track of our iTunes video purchases along with other sources such as Amazon Prime, HBO Go, etc.

Re: New ios...think I'll wait
I hardly had any issues at all since I got the 11 Pro Max and iOS 13.? One in Pinterest with it locking up sometimes and another in iMessage with the
speech to txt not working and I had to press the microphone icon a few times.? If you think this is bad, I also have the Note 10+ and there are way more problems with apps than the iPhone.? I don't know if it is the phone or just Android, but I can rattle off 5-6 apps right now that have problems.? I would take iOS 13 over that any day. There have been a few quick updates to fix things and I consider this good.? Your saying there are too many updates at the same time saying there are problems?? They go together, to fix a problem you need an update.? You don't really even have to do anything except enter your password when it restarts. Rich? |

开云体育I’ve had no problems with third party apps on my devices which are an iPhone 11 Pro and two iPad Pros. ?My Apple Watch is also behaving normally. ?The only inconvenience I’ve had is that Reminders do not sync to Macs that are not running Catalina and I’m not yet ready to upgrade my system.Pat

Not sure if it is the “video” that used to house videos you took yourself but it did morph to TV.

It's still there, at least on my phone.? Once you tap on the box with the arrow, in the options that open, scroll up.? I see "Add to Home Screen" as one of the options.? At the bottom of those options, I also see "Edit Actions...", where it appears you can modify what shows up in the list, and in what order.?? Re: New ios...think I'll wait
The new "improved" Reminders app in iOS 13 added a lot of fancy extras. But the ability to set a reminder on the Watch and have it synchronize with the iPhone and iPad vanished.
After hours on the phone with an Apple tech and the tech forwarding info to the engineers about this issue (among others) I got a response. The upshot was "that’s how it works (or in this case doesn’t work) for now. Maybe the syncing will be returning in a later update." So a really useful feature was replaced by a host of less useful bells and whistles. My iPhone 7's battery runs down faster with 13 as well. Great update. CD "She is both hellfire and holy water. Re: Battery dying while being used
Joan, if you haven't already, perform a forced re-boot.? To accomplish this on the iP8, quickly press and release the up volume button, then the down volume button, and follow that by pressing and holding in the "power" button until you see the "Apple" logo.? It will take a few seconds, as many as 30 or so, for the re-boot to complete.? I do this when ever something wierd happens, and it's not a bad idea to perform this re-boot after an update, also. Re: New ios...think I'll wait
开云体育iOS 13 seems to have more problems than any of the earlier releases. Almost all 3rd party Apps have erratic behaviour. I think the structural change of introducing File manager is the main culprit. Apple, in most likelihood, will cut back some the new features of iOS 13 as their back room guys are unable to cope up. 3 patches in less than a month must be a new record. Saving Web pages

开云体育Ladies & Gentlemen I used to be able to touch the box with an arrow at the foot of the screen when looking at a website to save the URL of a website as an icon on my home-page. But I can NOT see any way of doing this on the new Operating System 13.1.3 Can anybody tell me how I can do this now, please? With best wishes and thanks MC Black

Re: New ios...think I'll wait
The original iPad Air is NOT listed (by iMore) as compatible with iPadOS 13. The Air 2 and later models ARE listed as compatible.

That being said, I might well be nervous about upgrading the oldest models claimed to be compatible, at least until I had heard good reports from users. nztours wrote: ?I have iOS13.1.3 on an iPad Air and for me it’s still causing issues. |

开云体育Sounds like a hardware malfunction. ?Apple will probably replace your phone. ?Well, hopefully. ?I had a bad experience with a store a year or two ago. ?My iPad battery’s full charge was lasting only about five hours. ?Apple were advertising replacement with an iPad of the same model for $100 in case of a bad battery. ?When I took it to the store, though, I was told five hours was fine - they wouldn’t honor their advert until their test told them that the battery was “bad enough”. ?I hope you have better luck. I have iOS13.1.3 on an iPad Air and for me it’s still causing issues. The most annoying are the fact that launching 3rd part apps from the launch remains inconsistent, battery drain seems worse and editing/selecting ?text is not consistent. I we’ll definitely wait before doing my phone. ?

Battery dying while being used
I apologize if this has been addressed, but, in the past six months my battery (iPhone 8) literally drains while I'm using it from full charge (100%) down to 1% if I don't keep it on the charger while I use it. I can watch the battery drain while I'm talking. I have to keep it on the charger constantly so I can use it for a few minutes off the charger.
When I looked at the battery health it says 58%. What can I do on my end to help stop this fast drain besides getting a new battery, which I will at some point. I must be missing something that works in the background to drain the battery so fast. Thanks! Joan |
Re: New ios...think I'll wait
Thanks Brent...
I should have thought a little more about what I had written before sending it... First off, I was thinking about a new release update rather than a bug fix update when I said I would wait, and second... yes 90 days is longer than you need to wait for errors in a new release to show up. But waiting for 3-7 days on a major release update could make sense. Another question that users of iPhone 6 and older devices have to ask themselves is whether or not they want to risk continuing to use phones that do not get updates at all... the answer to which seems to be for many “Yes, I am willing to risk that”. People are buying and presumably using older smartphones that do not get support at all... have a look at completed sales on eBay for example to see them. Bim Bousman iPhone SE ~-~ |
