You didn¡¯t indicate which is your default browser???The default browser app is set in the Settings app: Settings > Apps > Default apps > Browser app.

When you say ¡°Gmail¡±, I¡¯m presuming that you mean the Gmail app???If so¡

I don¡¯t use Gmail, but I¡¯ve dug around and found a couple references that might, or might not, apply.

Others with a similar problem needed to change a setting within the Gmail app:

  1. Tap hamburger icon on upper left (3 horizontal lines)
  2. Scroll way down past your folders, and tap ¡°Settings¡±.
  3. Scroll down and tap ¡°Default apps¡±.
  4. In the Browser section, rather than selecting a specific browser tap ¡°Default browser app¡±.?
  5. If you don¡¯t want to be prompted every time to tap a link, then turn off ¡°Ask me which app to use every time¡± in that section.

The only place in which I could find the "Couldn't reach server," error was under ¡°"Couldn't reach server," "TLS Negotiation failed" error on the following webpage.??But that doesn¡¯t seem applicable to me.

I am having an issue with the latest version of iOS. Two different things are happening.?

Example 1: in the Masterclass App, I go to download a workbook yet it doesn¡¯t download on my iPad. It downloads on my iPhone. Both iOS versions are current. My guess is that when I go to download the PDF, it redirects me to the file source.?

Example 2: in Gmail on my iPad, I click on a link in something like ¡±Macworld Daily¡± to open one of a few articles and it won¡¯t open on my iPad but will on my iPhone. Often the message ¡°Server not found¡± is displayed.?

It seems like my iPad is redirecting to external servers to access content and something in iPad OS is preventing it while iOS is not.?

Anyone have any suggestions?
