I "assume" he means reporting it as fraud to the credit card company that was used to make the purchase.? That process can be a PITA.? Going down this road is straying way off topic. So, no more post from me.

I have? a friend who, a couple of years ago, bought a cheap airline ticket from ATL Ga, to STL Mo, just to buy a hand full of toys. After the deal he rented a self-driving rent-a-car and drove back to ATL Ga. so the toys would not be broken by a shipping company.
.
Maybe a similar deal could be worked up between a buyer and the seller.

Good Luck

Currently cheapest on Amazon Prime in the UK is around ?400 for a 7x12 no DRO. OK for what I want. Yet similar machines seem to go up to nearer ?1200 from other suppliers.

As far as I can see they look identical. I can deal with the setting up etc.?

My experiences of cheap and cheerful Chinese products with a? few exceptions is that so long as one does not expect too much one will not be disappointed. However a 1:3 price difference for obviously the same product is not usual.

This is one of the reasons folks go with the 7x lathes, size and weight. There is no way back when I bought my 7x16 that I could deal with an 8x then or even now.

Well I had to go look, and I bought the Cummins lathe in 2005 and paid $456 for it, shipping included. That's 17 years and I just replaced the belt this last year. It's been a good lathe.

I have a simular lathe (digital readouts on mine)?
Better then 50% off list
4" chucks against 3" on many of the other mini lathes
Toggle lock on the tail stock
Good selection of quick change tool bits
Many things going for it

If I didn't have one, I would be looking at it.

I am thinking of buying a new mini lathe. The prices however seem to be in a ratio of 1 to 3 from lowest to highest. This is after making allowances for what is supplied, which for a basic model, which is all I want is the gears and a 3 jaw chuck plus a few tools.

Be aware, all, that most things on sale through ?are done via online only affiliation: ie: Vevor sells their stuff through Walmart’s site passing along a cut to Walmart, much the same way that Amazon works. There is no guarantee of anything by Walmart. They are only providing the marketplace. (this info is in the fine print)?

This is not something being sold BY Walmart.?

Actually I ordered my lathe online and received?it by shipment through UPS. Did the same thing for a milling machine shortly after that.

That's actually a very good price for a 7x14 lathe. I paid about that price for a 7x12 cummins many years ago, and it has been a very good machine. Of course?you end up spending that much again for the tooling.

I have a Cummins also! I got it from my neighbor when he decided he was too old to safetly operate his machine tools.

I also got my Clausing 8520 verticle mill and a Chraftsman 12x36 lathe and lots of tooling and lots of good stuff.

??????????????? Well just to start: this lathe is located in Arlington Texas, midway between Dallas and Fort Worth. Not far from the airport if you wanted to fly in for a look!? ;<O ?As far as can be told from the pictures it is well equipped and cared for. But there are lots of things you cannot see. It is worth a day’s drive IMO. On your scale this could be a 3!?? Bill in Boulder CO

??? ??? I gotto think that Covid hit them pretty hard . I live outside of a town of @ 2500 in northern CA & they usually stop by & then spend a day or two at out next big town of @ the same

population . In the past their prices have been a bit higher than HF , but it saves a 90 mile round trip .
