Well I had to go look, and I bought the Cummins lathe in 2005 and paid $456 for it, shipping included. That's 17 years and I just replaced the belt this last year. It's been a good lathe.

Be aware, all, that most things on sale through ?are done via online only affiliation: ie: Vevor sells their stuff through Walmart¡¯s site passing along a cut to Walmart, much the same way that Amazon works. There is no guarantee of anything by Walmart. They are only providing the marketplace. (this info is in the fine print)?

The 8X lathes seem to me to be a streched version of the 7X family, increasing capacity without increasing strength or rigidity. Ever run a lathe that has been blocked up to increase the swing?
