Come to Lincoln Park and be part of a nationwide commemoration honoring and remembering the enslaved Africans brought to Point Comfort (Fort Monroe National Monument) Virginia in 1619. Strings Workshop, a Ranger-led tour, and the commemorative bell-ringing?at 3:00 p.m.

3:00 p.m.?- Healing Day Bell Ringing Ceremony - This ceremony will last four minutes, honoring 400 years of African American history and culture.

3:04 p.m.?- Monuments to Freedom. The stories of education, freedom and African American history are interwoven at Lincoln Park.? Reply-To:?lincolnparkdc@...

Neighbors,

I'm a beekeeper with hives just north of Stanton Park.? My friend Del keeps bees on the Hill too. We're having a honey sale tomorrow. We'll be at??(corner of 11th & C, NE) on Saturday from?9-1pm?

Stop by for a free taste of our honey from my hives at Lexington Place, Congressional Cemetery and Del's honey from Capitol Hill and from Lederer Garden.?

Del and I harvest the same day, but our honey tastes different because of the different blossoms our bees forage from.

Put your name in a raffle and if you win, you can join?Del and?me for a beekeeper experience. We will dress you up in our protective beekeeping outfits and you can help us inspect a hive, harvest or perhaps extract honey depending on when we do it. You may be asked (but not forced) to hold in your hands a frame of 3000 honeybees and look for the queen.

If you can't make the sale don't worry - you can always put in an order for honey at?.? I do free deliveries to the 20002 and 20003 zip codes.

Long live the queen!

You, too, can help the trees

There lots of dead/dying street trees in our neighborhood. Since we need more trees --?
3 billion or a trillion new trees -- one of my neighbors (Johanna Bockman)?decided to put mulch and water on street trees over one year -- the city takes care of trees less than one year old -- to help strengthen their roots and leaves for the climate emergency. Celebrate the trees today by putting some water on them:?

Apartment for rent on Capitol Hill/Eastern Market SE

Thought I'd post this here in case folks know of anyone who might be interested.? Thanks, Antonia
---

We just fully renovated our basement?apartment?(800 sq ft). It is 2-bedroom, 1 bath. A few pictures attached. It is perfect for a single person or a couple with a guest bedroom/office. Smaller bedroom is also fine for a small child. However, it is NOT ideal for a 2 roommate situation.?

It has a brand new kitchen with extensive granite counter-tops (w/overhang to work/eat at) and cabinets, brand new stainless steel appliances, and a fairly new full size washer/dryer. It also has a gated area in the front where you can store bikes, and direct access to a back yard patio. Parking right in front on our street is rarely problem.?

It is 1 block from Lincoln Park and 4 blocks from Eastern Market and the metro.?

We are asking $2250/month plus utilities, internet/cable. We cover water/sewage.?
No smoking, pets negotiable, 1- year lease, available immediately.
