¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAccording to Greater Greater Washington's redistricting game (), Ward 2 is too large and Wards 7 and 8 are too small.??But since Ward 6 is in the center?of it all, most proposals to re-district affect our borders.? Unless Ward 8 takes over the Mall and Foggy Bottom, then we're all good.(For?results of the re-districting "game", see ) ? To: 11thSEblock@... From: mkrause@... It¡¯s not actually Ward 6 that needs to shrink in population but Ward 6 has been pegged as the easiest to use to increase 7 & 8 population (which do need to increase.)? It appears that Ward 5 needs to shrink but it¡¯s not geographically located near Wards 7 & 8 so it¡¯s difficult to do a quick move. ? That said, I agree, what is the alternative? ? My understanding is that ward 6 needs to shrink geographically and wards 7 and 8 each need to grow in order to maintain the legislatively-mandated equal populations across all wards. What specific areas of Ward 6 *should* be moved to ward 7 or 8? ?I understand what the arguments against moving these sections of 6 (i.e. Hill East region) but since something definitely needs to be moved what are the alternative proposals?
