Just a word of caution for anyone planning to sample the "Breezer" open top service during it's school holidays operating days...
It hasn't run today or yesterday (nor I believe on Wednesday either) due to "severe staff shortages" and as such seems to be the first route dropped in these circumstances.
The open topper is still out however, it was on the 170 (Chesterfield - Baslow) today - in the rain - odd hours departures from Chesterfield.

The full details are on the? tendering portal, but you need to be a registered supplier/user in order to view the individual specification documents for each service (there are over 100 documents as each service has a separate evening and Sunday specification/lot).
To correct my earlier post, they are not all 3 year tenders too, most are from Oct 2023 to March 2025
The below is a list of all the different lots available to bid for (the contract reference gives the service number, for example B001 is the 1 service in Barnsley, S097 is the 97 in Sheffield).? The /0 are generally the evening service and the /1 are the generally the Sunday service.? Lots 120-123 are daytime services.? However, lot B001 (the 1 in Barnsley) also includes the 94a, lot B006 also includes the 11, 12 and 43, and a few other oddities like that too.
Will try to answer any specific queries if you can't access the tendering portal!

Hi all
Apologies for the long overdue update...
15719 (YN60 CKU), the first of the pair of Scania/E400s to be converted to open top and repainted for the Peak Sightseeing service (the other being 15718 which is still being converted) has entered service today at Chesterfield on the Peak Sightseer work.? This has allowed Trident/ALX400 17240 (X368 NNO) to return to Stagecoach North East.? Once 15718 is in use, the other 2 loaned Tridents (17643/5) will also return to the North East.? This will result in 15718/9 being the 'regular' vehicles on the Peak Sightseer with 18467 (LX55 EPV) as spare.
3x Enviro 300s have arrived at Chesterfield from Stagecoach South - 27564/5/70 (GX58 GNN/O/Z).? Not sure if these are for use (the PVR increases in September due to the award of the contract for network of services provided to Barnsley College) or for conversion to Driver Trainers.
Finally, there has been a clear out of late of withdrawn/stored vehicles - the majority of the withdrawn MAN/E300s and Solos that were in store at Chesterfield have been removed by the scrappers, along with the former Megabus coaches (of the 540xx batch) that had been stored at Chesterfield ever since their use on Chesterfield - Derby rail replacement work back in 2018!

Yorkshire Traction Rapido National
I've today had an update on the expected?YTC (and other) National models. Sadly, it looks as though it won't be happening.
Rapido Trains UK have advised that they have unfortunately had to place their new Leyland National bus project under indefinite suspension. This is due to current global economic uncertainty and a lower interest level than anticipated.
We will retain these items on your wishlist and if Rapido decide to revisit this project in the future we will notify you.

StreetDeck 35211 (SL16 RFO) has transferred from First WY (Bramley depot) to First SY (Olive Grove). It is in LeedsCity green livery.
It is a direct replacement for life expired B9TL 37228 (YN57 RJU) which is now withdrawn.
Presumably a StreetDeck was transferred as Bramley can't afford to loose any further (guidewheel fitted) B9TLs.

Looks like the writing could be on the wall for the East Leeds Flexibus service operated by First.
A good read for those interested - particularly the details that the majority of people attracted to the service have been people who previously used other forms of public transport or walked, rather than attracting people who previously drove or did not travel at all:??

Hi all
All the Volvos below have now arrived and entered service at Olive Grove in their existing livery with brandings removed - 69438-41 are purple, and 69442 is orange.
They were followed by a pair of Streetlites in 'Olympia' livery - 63107/8 (SM13 NCN/O), and now following on is another batch of Streetlites - this time in Olympia livery with the fuchsia pink front - 63350-55 (SM65 WMW/X/Y/Z/NA/NB).
All the above for Olive Grove to remove further members of the 63001-37 batch of Steetlites which are being returned off-lease.

Volvo B7RLE/Wrights 69438 (WX59 BYP) and 69442 (WX59 BYU) have recently arrived here from First Leicester and now entered service at Olive Grove, to replace further '63' plate StreetLites which are being returned off lease.
'38' is in a purple colour scheme, and '42' orange - these being their Leicester liveries with branding removed.

PVR is 2, generally to be operated by Open Top Vehicles, and worked by Chesterfield depot.
Long term, a couple of the Scania/E400s from Ecclesfield depot which are yet to be made fully CAZ compliant will be converted to open top format for this work and painted in to a special livery.? Open Top Trident/ALX400 18467 (LX55 EPV) has also been added to the Yorkshire fleet as part of the pool of vehicles for this service, this has now been painted in to standard Stagecoach livery with "Peak Sightseer' branding applied.
Until the Scania/E400s are ready, open top Trident/ALX400s 17240 (X368 NNO), 17643 (W643 RND) and 17645 (W645 RND) have come in on loan from Stagecoach North East.? These are also in standard Stagecoach livery with branding applied.

Hi all
No sooner did it start it's now potentially over.
The parties have agreed to further talks, so the industrial action has been suspended. A limited service will remain in place for the rest of today then a normal service resumes tomorrow pending the outcome of those further talks.

Volvo B7RLE/Wrights 69438 (WX59 BYP) and 69442 (WX59 BYU) have recently arrived here from First Leicester and now entered service at Olive Grove, to replace further '63' plate StreetLites which are being returned off lease.
'38' is in a purple colour scheme, and '42' orange - these being their Leicester liveries with branding removed.
69439/40/41 (WX59 BYR/S/T) are also due to transfer.

E400MMC 11125 (PHE 692) has been repainted from it's Platinum Jubilee back in to, perhaps surprisingly (as I thought it had been discontinued), the Stagecoach Gold livery.
A new service running between Chatsworth House and Bakewell has been registered to operate on weekends and Bank Holidays between 22nd July and 3rd September.? Perhaps the service number - OT1 - may be a clue as to why Open Top Trident/ALX400 18467 (LX55 EPV) arrived at Chesterfield from East Midlands a few weeks ago...?
