TM Travel
A quick update on the ex-Lothian E400s that have been acquired by Wellglade for the TM Travel and Notts & Derby fleets... Fleet numbers have been assigned as follows:
It's still not clear which are for TM or indeed how many - initial reports we TM were to receive 10 of the 15, but it is now suggested they will only have 9.? However, from the above 1403, 1407 and 1410 are physically on site at TM but not yet in use. Due to leave the TM fleet shortly are Volvo B7TL/President 39 (X683 RDA) - apparently going for preservation, the pair of Volvo B7L/EL Nordics (1170 + 1179) which are moving to Notts & Derby and Scania/Omnis 1207/9/10 (YN57 FZA/YN56 NRY/Z) which are for disposal. Southampton had the regional paintshop for First in the South. I have no idea how the fleet will be so done now.?

Could be worse. They could through them out with minimal changes like Norwich have done with the ex York B9s and ex Weymouth B7RLEs, (which still have Weymouth-Littlemoor route branding).

Weymouth and Slough have already thrown out ex Southampton buses. I wonder what these buses have had done to them?

I'm sure taking a few extra weeks to prep these buses properly wouldn't be the end of the world . . . .

TM Travel (and Notts & Derby)
Wellglade Group have acquired a batch of 15 E400s from Lothian - they were Lothian fleet numbers 201-215.? They were built as hybrids but converted to standard diesel power a few years ago. The majority were collected earlier in the week - gather 10 of the 15 are for the TM Travel fleet in Sheffield, with the remaining 5 to go to Notts and Derby.?? Ian |

With one or two notable exceptions the Clean Air Zones penalise the businesses who keep the city economy moving whilst turning a blind eye to the private motorists. Hang on, of course they are the ones with votes aren't they? When a Councillor was challenged in a TV interview about this he said "of course we don't want to discourage people from driving into Sheffield." Hello?

Wilfreda Beehive, Adwick le Street (SY)
Noted recently on the Doncaster Royal Infirmary to Mexborough Montague Hospital shuttle operated by Beehive was CN72 WFH, a Mercedes mini-coach (sorry, not up on my breadvan bodies!).? It's in white livery with WBH fleetnames and an electronic destination display. Ian |

Yorkshire Buses, Leeds
Had a look at this relatively new operator yesterday. Out in service in Leeds on the 29 (Hunslet - City - University) were Trident/ALX400 LX03 BYL (in yellow) and Scania OmniCity YN56 NVF (in Ipswich/Connexionsbuses livery), and out on the 61 (Hunslet - St James's) was Streetlite CC11 BUS (in red/blue livery). At the depot (just off the A61/Wood Lane near Rothwell) were: LJ59 LVW (DAF/Wright) in London red ODZ 4910 (Trident/ALX400) in yellow X511 WRG (Dart MPD) in white YG02 FWL (Solo) in Marshalls (Sutton on Trent) livery YN05 GXB (Scania/Wright) in Connexionsbuses 'Super 13' livery YS03 ZHP (Scania OmniCity) in Greyscroft (Mablethorpe) livery Ian |

Forgot to add yesterday - also in connection with the Sheffield Clean Air Zone the Optare Solos which were at Ecclesfield have moved on - initially to Chesterfield - and as such the work in Sheffield the Solos previously covered (the 61/62 Hillsborough to Bradfield runs) are now being operated by E200s. Enviro 200s 36182/3 (YN60 FKT/U) have been transferred to Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancs. The Sheffield Clean Air Zone is introduced next Monday.? To ensure the Stagecoach fleet is compliant the E400s currently at Ecclesfield which do not meet the emissions standards are being moved to Barnsley depot, in exchange for Scania/E400s which have undergone modifications to ensure compliance.
