A further update...

27234/5 have remained in Manchester, with 27824/5 (MX62 LSY/LTJ) moving over in their place.

The batch is to be split between Barnsley and Chesterfield depots - 27233 at least is already in use from Chesterfield.

The 3 substitutes are 11626 (YX73 PFU), 11647 (YX73 PGF) and 11649 (YX73 PGO).? Thus the Holbrook batch will now be 11626/647/649/697-99/702/3/5-16.

Hi all

BV23 NNT has returned to Volvo following it's trial period at Olive Grove.

It has been replaced by single deck Volvo BZL/MCV demonstrator BV72 KPF which has entered service at Olive Grove today on service 51.

I gather after this has finished a Yutong demonstrator is expected here for similar trials.

Apologies, I'm a million miles behind as usual and trying to play catch-up, so apologies if this has already been reported...

Acquired from Arriva North East recently have been:

VDL/Pulsars NK09 BPV, NK10 CEN, NK10 CEO, NK61 CXS and NK61 CYJ.? They were ANE numbers 1407/34/35/61/75 and are now AY numbers 1443-47.? Gather these are for Belle Isle though currently being used as 'pool' vehicles at present.? Their numbering leaves a gap of two (1448/9) before the 'native' batch starts at 1450, possibly suggesting 2 more are expected?

Dart SLF/E200s GN10 KWH/J/K are also acquired (ex ANE 1320/1/2, now AY 1067/8/9) and also re-acquired are new to AY and then transferred to ANE Dart SLF/E200s YJ09 CVA/CVD which were 1329/31 at ANE and have regained their original 1062/5 numbers with AY.? These are at Castleford to replace the remaining VDL/Commanders.

Hello

Yes, now to be operated by Yorkshire Buses. Gather the contract used to be between the University (as the owner of the accommodation at Storthes Hall) and the operator. However, the accommodation was sold to a private operator (Digs) and thus it is their service to contact now. Maybe they are more interested in cost rather than vehicle age.

Wish Yorkshire Buses well, though a little concerned they may be falling in to the "too much too soon" trap other smaller operators have fallen in to...

After First apparently lost the Storthes Hall/Huddersfield Uni shuttle services, the new operator appears to have been revealed as Yorkshire Buses.



This is interesting, as I seem to recall that First were nudged into putting newer buses on the route (hence the branded E400s) - Yorkshire Buses run nothing newer than a 10-plate OmniCity so far...

?Looks as though it has been North of the Border with Lothian Buses since April, so it wil be interesting to see what colour bodywork it is displaying on its arrival in Yorkshire next week.? There is a mention on the post I have been looking at that a single deck BZL demonstrator recently moved down from Lothian to trial with EYMS as its 6001 [BV72 KPF].

Delivery has commenced of the (Scarborough-built) batch of 20 E400MMCs due here.? The first arrival is 11700 (YX23 OYP).? The batch runs from 11697 to 11716 inclusive.? It is possible that many of the batch will loose their booked '23' registrations in place of '73' registrations which start next week.
