Mary,
Shannon has a different?type of HD which is much faster. Also the speed over her connecting cable is faster -it is not the size of the cable but the speed of transfer. That is why hers worked to an external?HD.?
What I recommend is that you set up a folder and do a few classes?first. Move the files to another folder and delete?the temporary?files that the program creates, which are all the files?that don't have an .mp4 file type. Then do a larger number of classes. As you download them, archive them in your class library. Once?the process is working, you can download the rest of your library. It won't download archived classes.
The files are named 'class number - episode?number - title of episode?- class name' so they tend to get sorted together and you can easily identify them later.?
You have a lot of classes, right? Do 5 in a batch. You should be able to do 3-4 batches a day and you'll get them all done.

Shannon,? I began the download process, using Allavsoft with an brand new external HD attached to the laptop.? The external drive is 3 Terabytes with a nice, heavy duty cable.? It should be ready for the job.
I had mixed success so far and have paused the operation.? I attempted to have the download go directly to the external HD, but it nevertheless defaulted to my Allavsoft folder on drive C.? I'm going to re-check my settings and give it another try today.? The Settings screens are what I'd describe as "sensitive" and sometimes revert to the default.? I don't think I've neglected to make sure the settings are saved, but I'll definitely check that too.
So Shannon and Jaya,? both of you then manually move all of the episodes for one class into a designated class folder?? That's ton of work, but I'm willing to do it if that's the best method to use since I'm downloading my entire playlist.
I did email Allavsoft about the external drive as the destination for the download.? They responded quickly.? It certainly appears that they don't really recommend having the downloads sent to an external drive b/c it may cause a download failure.? Here is Allavsoft suppport's response:
Please to set the hard drive as the output location and then move the? downloaded files to your external drive. Please click Option-> General ->Browse to select your hard drive as? output location. If you still insist use an external drive as output location which may? cause download failed, here is guide: If you use an external hard drive, let's say, the external hard drive? is named X:, then simply set "File Naming" to? "X:\mybluprint\%(title).%(ext)" in "Option - Preference...", and then? resume all downloadings by Pressing "Ctrl + F5" in Allavsoft.
Obviously,? I'm still a little lost with this process!? Anyone with any suggestions, chime in, please!
