P25 Capable users?
David Ventura
Hello, I was wondering how many P25 capable users we have so we can communicate using this digital voice mode.
I bought an XTS 3000 Model II Motorola Astro HT on eBay, I will not get it for a few days, but it will be programmed before I return to MN early May. Dave, KE0NA |
Re: P25 Capable users?
I have 5 UHF P25 radios, + 1 all band(VHF/UHF/700/800/900) and 3, 700/800 All but one are in AZ at the moment. Basically all XTS5000, except for 1 Harris radio. Re: P25 Capable users?
Me too; I am P25 capable, Dave. Perhaps a spreadsheet with the P25 radio ID's might be helpful? Not sure. -matt?? -- ----- Matthew Genelin Computer Engineer +1 (612) 605-5382 ARS N0YNT/W0USD/W0YC GMRS WQCQ790

Astro 25 radios on eBay
Here's a pretty good deal for $294 shipped. A Q-split XTS5000R (ruggedized) with battery, IMPRES charger, and speaker mic. It's an Aussie tagged radio, but the P/N is the same as NA units, so there shouldn't be any issues with codeplug programming. They look to be in really decent shape!

Re: Astro 25 radios on eBay
Morning Kyle & Everyone: Just a quick opinion from us gang here in South Central Minnesota. The best Hand Hand Helds are the ones that have FPP programability in it....or other words -- Program THE repeaters you want on the fly includiung DCS/PL or even NAC numbers. This saves you from being tied to a programming cable and a PC in my opinion. If you have a question, let me know. Don Burgess KC0QNA Cell Phone:? 507-241-0270 E-mail:? thelostiowan@...

Hello all, I have successfully?read my XTS 3000 Model II HT (bought an old Dell Laptop running XP). It appears that the radio is configured for trunking and I do not have the knowledge on how to turn off what needs to be turned off to make it usable for Amaterur radio. I cannot even save the code plug since it has "invalid fields". I think the quickest way to fix this would be to load a code plug from another XTS 3000 that has been set up for amateur radio. Does anyone have a code plug that I can use to overwrite the trunking configuration in my radio so I can start setting it up properly? Thank you, Dave Ventura, KE0NA On Tue, May 2, 2023 at 7:13?AM Don Burgess via <Thelostiowan=[email protected]> wrote:

Thanks Mike, I got the invalid fields cleaned up (so I could write it out), and was able to configure one analog and two Astro channels, I think scan?lists are set up, but the three position toggle and other items are still a mystery to me. I put my DMR ID in the Personal ID field (a unique number that should work for P25, correct?). Also, why is it writing?out a session log? I turned off security, which got rid of the Key Lock error. Trunking is still there, but I am afraid to mess with it. Thanks again, Dave, KE0NA On Thu, May 4, 2023 at 3:28?AM Mike Norrbom <mnorrbom@...> wrote:

Re: Astro 25 radios on eBay
I'd be interested in a pointer to where I might find CPS for the XTS3000. Here's what I'm using for my XTS5000 radios Also, if anyone is looking for batteries, let me know. I might have a couple I can spare. 73 On Thu, May 4, 2023 at 2:05?PM David Ventura <dfujikiv@...> wrote:

I'd also be interested in that codeplug. I would like to merge with my AZ codeplug and having all the data in one place would be nice. Hello Kyle, I have an Astro code plug for my XTS 3000 with all the P25 metro repeaters and a few analog ones. It is a work in progress. Maybe we can learn together :-).? There's a breakfast gathering this coming Saturday in St. Anthony at Fat Nats Eggs for digital ham radio enthusiast, maybe we can meet there to discuss? Dave, KE0NA?
