Hi SDR group,
My XP laptop just died so I am looking at getting a new one.
Of course it will have to be W7 so my question is....
?
I use HDSDR, PowerSDR I/q, Maybe Rocky soon, FLDIGI, HRD? ect.
?
Are all these going to be OK with W7??
Thanks,
Lee

Re: CB transmission
Cecil Bayona
It's still illegal, I believe below 100mw it operates under different rules.

Subject: [softrock40] Re: softrock40 Only Alan has brought into the conversation the case where internal noise exceeds the antenna noise and my response there is "get a better antenna".Warren, I too am guilty of not reading posts carefully:) Roger started this topic with "The sensitivity of my SoftRock Ensemble II is not adequate on 12 meters. This unit was purchased assembled and tested. On 12 mtrs, on a good day, the band noise on my yagi is very low, but (just) above the sensitivity floor of my ICOM 738. The band noise is below the floor of the SoftRock however." The easy answer is a RF preamp. What I usually use is a Norton, with a relay for use with a RXTX. I have tried a MMIC on the plug-in 15-10m BPF of my 6.3. That appears to do the job satisfactorily and could probably be incorporated in an Ensemble. But I guess this MMIC mod will show problems sometimes. As I said before, anyone checking for the noise level on 12 or 10m should be wary. It has been quite high on occasions recently and above the noise floor of my unmodified Softrocks. Maybe check in the middle of the night? I did a few checks yesterday. About the only thing I can be sure of it that the noise floor of my EMU rises 12dB when applying power to a Softrock. Playing with the gain of the op-amps always seemed to make no difference or reduce sensitivity. But I need to look at this more carefully. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |

use.? You’re using an RXTX is against the law and you are breaking the

开云体育?To transmit on 11 meters it must be locked to the designated frequencies (channels) designated by the fcc.? If it can transmit between the channels ie continuous vfw it is not allowed.? A ssb cb radio has a clarifier, but it only works on recieve. If the clarifier is clipped to work on transmit then that radio is no longer fcc type accepted.? ? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note? II |
Re: CB transmission
Ross pointed this out to me "§95.409???(CB Rule 9) What equipment may I use at my CB station? (a) You must use an FCC certificated CB transmitter at your CB station. You can identify an FCC certificated transmitter by the certification label placed on it by the manufacturer. You may examine a list of certificated equipment at any FCC Field Office or at FCC Headquarters. Use of a transmitter which is not FCC certificated voids your authority to operate the station. (b) You must not make, or have made, any internal modification to a certificated CB transmitter. (See CB Rule 25, §95.425). Any internal modification to a certificated CB transmitter cancels the certification, and use of such a transmitter voids your authority to operate the station. [48 FR 24894, June 3, 1983, as amended at 63 FR 36610, July 7, 1998]" So yea it would appear that you are breaking the FCC rules for CB radio. Re: CB transmission
Larry,
It???s possible to transmit in CB band (26.65 to 27.99MHz) with It should work with an Ensemble built for 15/12/10m operation. It I'm confused about being illegal to transmit on the CB band. The Wikipedia quote uses the phrase "CB Device". In the US, the CB service requires a "FCC certificated CB transmitter". The Ensemble, for example, is not such a device. For the specific rule about CB transmitter requirements, see . For all of the CB rules, take a look at . 73 de Daniel KB3MUN |
