Oh for crying out loud! I give up!!!

This is just discouraging. I guess the next step for me is to to forget this and unsubscribe from the groups. What a letdown!!

Thanks for sharing that, Cecil. And thanks for all your efforts!

Hasta la bye-bye. I'm done.

I agree. The value of Yahoo to Verizon is content. There is no good business reason to kill off content. There is too much angst here for no good reason. I am a member of many Yahoo ham radio groups and this so called 'problem' does not appear anywhere else.?

I suspect the Yahoo groups will be around for a long time and the gloom and doom is unfounded. Yahoo was bought for the traffic and I bet they they generate a good bit of the total.

The transfer from yahoogroups to automatically transfers all current members from the old group to the new one. No one here now has to? re-subscribe to the new one.

Re: Why not Google Community

Hi Bill,

You are not alone. I have been earning my boy scout merit badge for self control and restraint in the presence of some of the nonsense presented here. When push comes to shove I can build and use radios with or without this list no matter where it is hosted (or not). Anything we do has consequences and we can be scared to petrification - just doing nothing at all. That has even more consequences. I am not going to take my ball and bat and go home regardless of whatever is done about moving or not moving. If I had any responsibility for the list it would already be moved and the extra traffic would be complaints about the new location <evil grin>. But don't worry - I am just one of the list peasants :) On lists where I am a moderator I do not kick people out for expressing their concerns even if it takes the form whining and pouting.

Some of my Softrock messages come from the 'io' list already anyway. Those are all placed (automatically) in the same folder as the Yahoo messages. Ain't computers great!? I'll be seeing you here. I'll be seeing your there. I'll be seeing you anywhere.

I can't say I'm a massive talker on this Yahoo! group beyond
occasionally popping up to say "Oi you left lysdr off the list of Linux

Re: Delta 44 DB- 15 pinout

Searching has produced no hits for me, so could anyone point to info
on the pinout for the Delta 44 15 pin connector? I have a card and want to build a cable to my RXTXEnsemble.

Wes,

It's in the Files section of this group, but maybe easier is Gurgle "Delta44 pinout" is one.

Ah! Here is Tony's one

Thanks for the offer Mike. I do not see them on the 5- site, but no matter. For some folks it is about having, others its building. I like to build, so will try to find some data on the card? to help in designing an interface. I have the time, tools and skills, and enjoy such challenges.

Re: Delta 44 DB- 15 pinout

Wes,

You can buy inexpensive adapters that will save you a lot of work! There are four photos of two different ones, that I just uploaded to

I use the small one, available from .

The larger one I don't use. I would sell it. The DB-15 cable comes with it. If you're interested, make me an offer. :-)

Does groups.io <> push you emails?

I do prefer the way that the google community functions. Much better
organized than yahoo and I can very simply chose which discussion I
want to monitor to ignore. Yet, I can simply search as well.

It's easy to read on any device and you can also imbed pictures to
tell a better story.

Where do they get their funding ? How do we know a year from now,
they go through the same thing and someone else buys them.

12 votes or 13% to let the moderators decide

2 votes or 2% not interested in the subject

2 votes or 2% to delete the group.

Not a very decisive size group voted but I was expecting that as most
people just read the messages and are not active.

A total of 92 votes of the members that cared one way or the other.

One thing to keep in mind the move requires no action on the part
of the
members it's all done by groups .io, they would move the
memberaccount,
files, photos, and messages, all I have to do is send them an
email to
go ahead as everything is already setup.

In the meantime as a safety measure I bought some software and I
have a
complete local backup of the groups files, photos, and all
messages in
case of a nuclear meltdown at Verizon/AOL the new owners of Yahoo
groups. Right now there is no mechanism to use that backup to restore
the user data somewhere else but the software can generate a MySQL
database so software could be written to do a restore somewhere else,
that is why I spent some money to have a backup of the groups data.

So what do we do next?
