Hi Bruce,
Thanks for adding a new name into the mix. I had not
heard of this card
before and it looks interesting.
The published specs show a 24/192K sample rate. So I
guess the question
is how much bandwidth are you able to see running this
board on the SR?
I've found that unfortunately a lot of the higher end
pro-sumer type
cards still have filtering around the 20Khz mark
despite very nice specs
with high sample rates. Hence my question.

Ken, if you are wanting a card for a desktop PC you
might consider the
Bluegears "B-Enspirer" . I have been using that with
good results. It is
also a 96 KHz sampling card. Look here for specs:

brand/model for

Mike, are all the Edirol FA66 cards firewire? On
ebay they show at
$250 - that is a bit more expensive than the EMU
0202 at $100 shipped.
I'm looking for a decent USB soundcard to use with
the SoftRock kits -
I would "like" for the price to be in the $100
range (less is
better)... That's why I have been looking at the
EMU 0202, but the
SUB soundblaster also sounds good.
OR I just might switch from notebook to desktop
and the choice is
easier.... I think anyway.
Thanks to all for comments.

I'll give it a try
Hi Norman,
The EMU0202 has average performance for I/Q
processing. The RX
noise
floor is much higher at some frequencies. I put
some test results
in
the files section a while back under my call if
interested: Files
KF4BQ.
I don't use my EMU0202 that often. The Edirol
FA66 is a bit better
but more expensive. My best audio system is the
EMU1212M, but it
is a
internal PCI card(s). In each case I use these
audio systems for
I/Q
processing and the on-motherboard audio for
baseband audio (i.e. to
speaker and from mic).
