Place to buy

Is there any one vendor thats the best place to buy? Hal/WB4AEG

Ebay is generally ok with good protection.?Has anyone been playing with the Bangood $45 spectrum analyser board? It goes from 33MHz to 4.4GHz with a tracking generator to 3 GHz. Perhaps we should start a separate group for that one.? I am finding out all kind of things about it.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Hal,

I got mine from eBay (link and seller below). It came with the shielding, 4 traces, plastic case, 3pc Cal kit, USB C connector and cable, etc.

Seller: Elecdesign2015

Hope that helps.

I got mine here:
Delivery to California was 2 weeks.

I am nervous when giving my card details to someone whom I don¡¯t know. Hence my preference is to use Paypal. This is not available via aliexpress I understand. Hence I turn to ebay as first choice.

My black nanovna with all the extras, usb C and lead, came from ¡°flyxy2015¡± and is ebay item 143272472926. Price was good and I received it in Cyprus in 3 weeks. I was pleased to give him 5 stars. The load shunt was within 0.1 ohm of 50 and had a manufacturer¡¯s serial number on it. (Measurement limited by my Marconi bridge).

Got mine from EBay seller color-fashion6 for $50. My unit has the RF shielding and the built-in battery. Came in a nice plastic storage case along with calibration loads and cables.Works exactly as advertised. Demand must be increasing because price is now up to $58 just 3 weeks after I purchased.

I'm really impressed what this little gem can do! It pretty much blows every other antenna analyzer and portable VNA out of the water, especially at the price point. My only complaint/suggestion is that it would be easier to use if it were about twice the size with a corresponding larger display. However, once you hook it to a computer it looks and works like a 'big box' unit costing at least 50x more.

Definitely worth the money. Every shack/bench should have one. I rate it .

Chinese sellers are VERY sensitive to demand and will raise asking prices quite quickly on any hint of a pick up in demand.

Aliexpress DOES take paypal, however there is a small service charge (~$2) for this.
I just ordered from one from them.

Not to mention Cheeto's Tariffs on Chinese goods.

So many will feel the effects of a trade war. Unfortunate how so many people will be negatively impacted. I hope it gets resolved soon but am not very hopeful. It¡¯s a real question whether my company can get through it.

An ignorant comment. ¡°Cheeto¡¯s¡± tariffs have been completely absorbed with the Chinese government¡¯s devaluation of the yuan. Anyone who accepts an increase in price ¡°because of the tariffs¡± is being jobbed.

The rest of the world is grateful for Cheeto¡¯s willingness to stand up to China¡¯s economic bullying.

No, not true, and there¡¯s a lot more going on than just tariffs.

But this is definitely not the place for this discussion.

There will be no further comments from me on the subject.

It's probably worth stating that you are not ordering from Aliexpress. Aliexpress is a marketplace, in much the same way as eBay or Amazon Marketplace. They provide a platform, and an escrow system to ensure the buyer is happy before payment is released to the vendor.
I get that this is a small distinction to many, but it's worth being clear.

After reading some reviews I have placed an order from seller 'Guangyi0016 Store' at AliExpress.

Hope to get in in a couple of weeks.

Maybe it was the selling blaming Aliexpress for the surcharge then.? Whatever.

I just received mine today. It took 9 days to arrive. It¡¯s the white version that has the SA612A chips and was loaded with the 900mhz 2 trace software. It does not come with cables. Does come with calibration modules and USB C cable. It was in perfect condition. Double boxed and bubble wrapped inside. The outside box was a little squished, to be expected as it was pretty small and probably packed with a lot of other goods coming ashore through customs. Very happy with it and impressed even for a clone. Will make some enhancements like shielding and a better case. Here is the vendor:

I got mine from Ebay, it was a Black one. I found that the sma connectors were only soldered on the center pin, so had to solder the earths.
This one had green led's

A recent poster to this forum also said: "As for price, AliExpress
guarantees what you're buying or they refund."

Beware of warranties from Asian sellers! If you complain to PayPal or your
credit card company about a defective item, you will be told you have to
return the item to get a refund and you are responsible for the return
shipping. In nearly all cases those sellers include shipping in the sale
price so they aren't responsible for return shipping costs. The minimum cost
to ship a package from the US to China was about $23 the last time I checked
so shipping eats up 1/3 to 1/2 of your refund for a nanovna. Also, tracking
on shipments to China is iffy to say the least and sellers take advantage of
that.

After a bad experience with Bangood, where I lost $80+$23 for a defective
tablet, I make all my Asian purchases on eBay because the seller is always
required to pay return postage for defective items. In most cases the seller
will tell you to keep the defective item but not before trying to negotiate
a partial refund for their boat anchor.

Hugen did a significant redesign of the edy555 vna, and clearly knows how to build them.
I see three different marketplaces from which to buy one of Hugen's builds

You can buy from him through taobao,
though you have to deal with a website in Chinese and $20 shipping charges:

/g/nanovna-users/topic/32309232
/g/nanovna-users/message/603

There is taobaoFOCUS, an English language shop that resells stuff from taobao:

/g/nanovna-users/topic/32513920

Hugen has suggested going through his friend on Alibaba.
Note that the price drops to US$35 if you buy in quantity,
an excellent choice for a club:

/g/nanovna-users/message/658

I'm more worried about wasting weeks banging my head against vague bugs
in a bad Asian clone than I am about risking $50 on a non amazon/ebay seller.
I wonder if perhaps Banggood or Amazon could be talked into stocking nanovna's
guaranteed to be from taobao?

Many thanks to Hugen and edy555 for all the effort they have put into
creating this fantastic device.
At this price point, I'd be happy enough if all it could do was a max of 30mhz.
