The ERS is still broken in half. wylie is linked to 146.62 and 444.850

System unlinked

Folks,

There is currently an issue with the allstar node in Grapevine. I am working through the issue as I have time.

Until further notice 146.62 is linked to wylie but nothing else. 444.850 is linked to decatur but nothing else.

I will post an update as soon as this issue is resolved.

Lunch @ Cowtown Hamfest

As usual, I'll be "brown-bagging" lunch on Saturday at the convention center.? I'd like to attend the North Texas Section session from 11-12 (it is supposed to feature a "meet the candidates for Section Manager",) and a session starting at 1pm, so there's really no option to go offsite for me.? I suspect the onsite food purveyor will once again be 1) slow, 2) expensive, 3) limited in choices, and 4) low quality, and I can fix all four issues with a lunch from home.? With the temperature forecast for Saturday, I might not even need an insulated cooler for the brown bag in my vehicle!

Any other "ERS'ers" are welcome to join in for a "face-to-face QSO."? I'll have my HT on and listening to the output frequency of the 70cm Grapevine repeater (444.850MHz) -- experience says that it's difficult to access the repeater from inside the convention center, so the best idea is to use simplex (just remember to turn off tone squelch if you normally run that way.)? If it's been awhile since you operated your HT that way, now's a good time to get into the manual and figure out how.

Re: tanners electronics

The OM and I were just at Tanner buying parts for our Allstar nodes and asked about the lease.

They told us the current lease goes until 2020, at which time they might renew the lease at the current location or they might end up moving, but they ARE NOT going out of business.

Hey folks,

I was at Tanners a few days ago and learned that the lease is up on his space in 18 months and it is unlikely that he will renew.

Its still well over a year away, but time does fly.
