Re: 442.100 is an island again

You wont go wrong with the yamaha or honda units. That being said, I had hell with a EU3000si trying to get a propanecarbs.com kit installed.

It would not run right. If you check my youtube channel, you can see the fight I had on my hands.. I ended up just selling it and getting a yamaha that already had the propane kit.

I own a generac wheelhouse 5500 that I did the propane/nat gas modification to and I also have a Yamaha 3000 inverter genset that is pretty awesome and very quiet. One of those and a 100lb LP cylinder would probably cover you.

There is also solar..? My next house is going to have an inverter/battery setup for lights out scenarios..

Our neighborhood here in northeast Longview was without power from about 2pm on Wed. 5/8, thru Sat. 5/11, at 8:40pm (almost 77 hours) due to a severe storm with winds that were estimated to have peaked at 90mph. The storm knocked over quite a few large trees a few blocks south of us which took down several power poles carrying the line which feeds our area. Lots of similar damage all over north Longview. At one point there were 25K-30k electric customers in Longview without power. NWS said there was no tornado, just straight line winds, but I distinctly heard the freight train sound typically associated with a tornado as I was looking out of my garage at the heavy rain and wind.

Fortunately, we dodged a bullet and had no damage to our home (or the immediate neighborhood). It wasn't fun, but at least the temperatures were mild so we didn't need the heat or air, but we were in the dark and lost everything in the fridge/freezer.

Needless to say, I've been looking at generators.

Re: 442.100 is an island again

Yes,

It's a cdm750. I already have the IGN sense hooked to a constant power source but it isn't helping. I have confirmed correct programming of the IGN pin.. I suspect an internal problem with the radio.

442.100 wylie update

FYI*

The link radio at wylie has been powered back on and the link to Grapevine is restored!

Thanks to Mason for taking the time to run up there and handle that.

system update

Folks,

Yesterday I noticed the wylie is not connected to grapevine anymore. Odds are that the link radio has powered off again.

I emailed the site contact and maybe we can get a button press soon.

I'll keep you informed ---
