This is amazing. Since moving to groups.io we already have 169 users join. That is great considering that most of the list on yahoo groups was not active in the group anymore. ?

Dave

I’m not that active, but I’m glad to be here and I learn a lot. Hopefully I’ll have something useful to contribute at some point.

Thanks so much for jumping on this and getting it sorted so quickly!

I take it that you sent out invitations to *all* members (but excluding bouncing accounts) using the bulk invitation option at ??

Whatever else this?move brings, it is a great opportunity to lose dead wood! Anyone going to needs to at least click on a link.?

I suspect many forums/groups have 5-10% active?members?and the remainder just like to pick up knowledge. There's nothing wrong with being a "lurker"!

Thanks Otto. For all the years I have been a member, I. Mainly lurk.?

With all the trouble I have had with the update to my iPhone 10XS max, I have been afraid to update to Catalina. Speaking of my phone, each update seems to gift me a new problem…that last being ?dropped calls. I have not called ?Apple support back for the umpteenth time, as they can not figure it out, and just tell me to keep updating?

Yes. Anybody who set their status to "No Email" was not invited.

I found the group while browsing around after another of my Yahoo groups moved to groups.io.

I have a question, is "invitation" a misnomer? I have not received an invite for either group that moved over to this provider.

I might have not been invited because I jumped the gun and manually joined before the invite went out.?

So basically, if you are set to "No Email", you only interact if you are using the yahoo web site, so you have to manually join in groups.io.

Aw, a new problem. Apple's Mail.app has started to randomly decided to consider many emails from this group as Junk. I just found 8 emails since about 4 hours ago there, yet have had new emails arrive properly. Many of these had the mangled "from", but two had their proper email addy shown.

I added the group name and address to Contacts and haven’t had a message go to Junk since.

based on this, should I send an invite to all those who were set to "No Email" also??

Howdy.

Yes. Some folks may only want to be involved "online." I set my
various groups to no email when I go on vacation.

This may be off-topic but I’m wondering how an invitation to members on no email would be accomplished?
