Re: iOS 13 and photos #iOSSoftware #Upgrading

Thanks, Pat. I guess that replaces the undo function, then? I find the old way was easier ;-)

Separated so as not to hijack another thread.
In the specific case of MacOS 10.15 Catalina, I feel that your hesitation is prudent. Catalina is a major revision of the MacOS, what with the end of support for 32-bit apps (that¡¯s a BIGGIE), a new division of the startup drive into System and Data, and more.
Wait and see what sort of problems are being reported by group members. You might get advance warning of a potential pitfall.

I used the Public Betas for a couple of months. There were some issues early on, but Apple did a solid job of bug squashing. Having no problems with iPadOS 13 on my 1st-generation iPad Pro.

I am attempting? to set up a new group due to the Yahoo betrayal.
I just tried? in import a database (csv) but nothing happened.
I took a shot at a manual build but can't seem to make it format the way

correct or remove them without? deleting the whole thing and starting over.

Suggestions?
Like to know before I try anything else ( like importing the group/archived images, etc.).

Re: Creating an Outlook Rule for Macsupportcentral #Mail

You start a new topic (or thread) by starting from a new email. You should never just reply to an existing email then change the subject thereby ¡°hijacking¡± the email. I don¡¯t believe you can fix this by changing your prefs.

May I suggest starting your own thread, instead of trying to steal someone else's?

You can do this by going into your groups.io account and changing your prefs.

Re: corrupted from email addy #MacSupportCentral

I saw that too, but when I look at the email address in the member list it doesn't have that problem. You wouldn't receive any emails if it was wrong. I don't know how or even where I would fix that. It could be because your profile doesn't have the user name filled in so it is substituting your email address. I don't know. You could try updating your profile and see if that fixes it. Looks like a groups.io bug.

Dave?

Re: Creating an Outlook Rule for Macsupportcentral #Mail

That is where I started, but it did not work Barry, since the from shows the members eddy, not the group's.

Look at the from on this email. it is not from?macsupportcentral, but?"Brent via Groups.Io" <whodo678@...>

You can change it to "to", but I also had
Subject contains [macsupportcentral]
which could cause a problem since I also had a rule to move any old MSC emails to an separate folder.

Simpler and fewer rules is better.

Hi, everyone.

I'm struggling with creating a rule that moves messages from this group into a MacSupport folder I created in Outlook. i have a long list of working rules but this group brings a challenge for Outlook.

Messages from the group arrive with two addresses: one from the poster and one from Sent by [email protected]. Outlook is not seeing the second address so it fails.

Messages from users can have two forms: just the author's name, the author's name plus "via Groups,io". I can make a working rule for the second form using ""

Messages with just the author's name will require using that name since Outlook isn't seeing the Sent by address. Needless to say, creating a rule for every subscriber to the group is out of the question.

Kindly share your thoughts and suggestions.

corrupted from email addy #MacSupportCentral

I mentioned that groups.io mangles some from email addresses. Mine is showing as:

Brent via Groups.Io" <whodo678@...>

But I noticed that many here are not having that done to theirs. I think it might have to do with how I joined groups on yahoo. Could one of the admins or mods here look into that and correct it or tell me how?

I would much appreciate it.
