Re: Has anyone upgraded to iPad OS

I can’t speak for others, but I can’t help here because I never use Siri.
I would be interested in knowing what you needed to do to fix this.
We (my wife and I) are seeing this some, but usually with some plain explanation. a) We’re talking to someone who turns out to be driving, and went through a weak-or-no-signal area. b) We walk through a part of the house that seems to have a much weaker signal than the rest of the house.

开云体育I had told the group what was wrong , as it first happened. First thing with 13.1 was that when I did hey Siri to make a phone call, it would only do it with speaker phone, and the speaker phone could not be shut off. The with 13.12 ?music would play, even though I have no music on my iPhone, and if the music played while on a call, , the call would be dropped. I managed to fix that on my own. The last upgrade has given me a lot of dropped calls. I will be talking to someone, and suddenly, there is no one there. It seems that the more I upgrade, the worse everything gets. I even started all over with my iPhone , treating it as a new phone, and having to put everything back. It was a lot of work, but solved nothing.?Thanks for the link of the iPhone group?

autotext in Office 365-Mac Word2016
I seem to have lost (or lost access to) all my Autotext entries.
I’ve Googled and haven’t found any useful information so far. I’ve never had any trouble before, and I’m not sure if this happened right after an update or before (I know this isn’t very helpful). They’ve always worked no matter what template I'm using. I’ve checked the keystroke I assigned and it’s the same. I’ve tried to find them using the pull-down menu and only the Word standard Autotext entries are visible. I’ve tried a few other tests and found a few random Autotext entries by trying different templates but none of these make any sense. Does anyone have any clues, please? Where I might look? What I might try? I hope very much I don’t have to recreate all these. thanks Julie |

And I’ve been having no real problems at all. If you describe your problems here, or perhaps join the iPhone forum at <[email protected]>, perhaps we can help resolve them. Obviously, if you *don’t* tell us what’s wrong, we won’t offer suggestions. |

I had read that there were a couple of severe problems on iPad Air 2 with the iPadOS 13.1.2 update. ?The 13.1.3 update was supposed to correct them, but I’m being a bit cautious because I have an iPad Air 2 and don’t feel up to being on the “bleeding edge of technology”.

Howdy.
I'm sure Time Machine was updated for Catalina to deal with separate System and Data volumes. SuperDuper will need to be re-written to deal with those two new volumes. You can see the two using Disk Utility. Howdy.
Remember that Catalina, for the first time, splits the System and Data parts of the boot drive into two linked volumes. It will very likely require a re-write of SuperDuper to deal with that. Bob, I don't know what you are talking about.

What I am talking about, is the mangled portion following what you quoted, the <whodo678@...>part. My email is whodo678@..., not whodo678=yahoo.com, note the equal sign. and not @groups.io. Turns out it has something to do with DMARC. I have not figured out if there is a work around. Brent On Oct 19, 2019, at 3:17 PM, Bob Beckham via Groups.Io wrote:

Dave,?
After I calmed down, I think Yahoo may have inserted into the message the click-able "mark as spam" box. Now that the message is in the spam folder it shows that yahoo disabled images in case I want to view them, and that spam box is there (also disabled), although I don't remember yahoo proactively treating spam. I believe you are correct.? This open enrollment time is always a nightmare.? Most of the snail mail is even more confusing and annoying.? Thank you for your reply.? It truly helps to hear a calm voice in the midst of panic. JJ |

开云体育I’m using it in the trial period and will probably continue. ?I’ve only found a couple of games I really enjoy, but it will be worth the $5 (I keep a discounted iTunes balance by buying gift cards when they’re on sale so my actual monthly cost is $4.25) just because the games in Arcade don’t have in-app purchases nor having to watch videos to progress in the game. ?I expect more games will be added over time. ?The trial period is for one month.Pat

Re: #Backup

开云体育I don't use Super Duper, nor have I as yet (because of all the issues) updated to Catalina; but a little googling finds some info. This has a pretty good description of the differences ?in Catalina, and seems to say that a recent beta of Super Duper can mostly handle it, although for situations like an encrypted drive, some extra work by the user will likely be needed. For those who prefer Carbon Copy Cloner, a very quick look what's happening there appears similar to me, save that perhaps it's the latest regular (non-beta) version that can handle it: They also have a link with the background information:?

Anybody in the group subscribing to Apple Arcade? What is your thoughts about it? Worth $4.99 a month?
I like games but I don't play them much but the idea of Apple Arcade is interesting to me. Not sure I like it that you don't own the game. I play so infrequently that I'm undecided if it is worth it? Dave |

Since upgrading to Catalina I have been unable to make a bootable clone using Super Duper, which I have used for years. Super Duper simply won’t creator copy the system patrician. Time machine copies it. Is this normal?

Re: Toner for brother monochrome laser printer

开云体育I’ve found lots of toners on eBay, Amazon, and
local classifieds that cost about 30% less than what Staples.ca
here wants for a cartridge... The ones I bought were all factory
sealed as new, and genuine Lexmark, last me about 6 months or
2-3000 prints! which is more than I get out of $100 of inkjet
ink... -JR |
