Aw, a new problem. Apple's Mail.app has started to randomly decided to consider many emails from this group as Junk. I just found 8 emails since about 4 hours ago there, yet have had new emails arrive properly. Many of these had the mangled "from", but two had their proper email addy shown.

So basically, if you are set to "No Email", you only interact if you are using the yahoo web site, so you have to manually join in groups.io.

I have a question, is "invitation" a misnomer? I have not received an invite for either group that moved over to this provider.

Re: corrupted from email addy #MacSupportCentral

Testing

I am generally a minimalist as to posting private info to the net.

But to correct this issue of mangling the from shown on groups, I tried this:

- signed into groups.io
- clicked on (my name) in the upper right and chose account
- clicked Identity on the left column
- chose Edit under Account Profile
- under User Name, I entered a short user name.

This email is to test the results.

I saw that too, but when I look at the email address in the member list it doesn't have that problem. You wouldn't receive any emails if it was wrong. I don't know how or even where I would fix that. It could be because your profile doesn't have the user name filled in so it is substituting your email address. I don't know. You could try updating your profile and see if that fixes it. Looks like a groups.io bug.

Re: Creating an Outlook Rule for Macsupportcentral #Mail

I'm sorry if I was not clear. The prefs was in response to digest vs individual emails, not hijacking.

You start a new topic (or thread) by starting from a new email. You should never just reply to an existing email then change the subject thereby ¡°hijacking¡± the email. I don¡¯t believe you can fix this by changing your prefs.

You can do this by going into your groups.io account and changing your prefs.

Glad to be on Groups IO #MacSupportCentral

I¡¯ve been running four Groups IO starting in November 2000 and I am very glad that MacsupportCentral have made such a good choice - it¡¯s a tribute to Mark¡¯s dedication!
My own groups have seen a surge of Yahoo refugees!

Well done to the transfer team!

I found the following paragraph in the following article...

¡°Tapping the Crop tool before making any changes triggers an analysis by Photos. Previously, this applied just straightening. Now it may also automatically apply a tilt, too. If corrections were made, an white-on-yellow AUTO button at the top appears with a dash-bordered square to its left. You can tap that button to toggle those changes off and on.¡±

GyazMail 64-bit bugs #Mail

Howdy.

GyazMail was updated to 64-bit a few days ago except several bugs
found.

Bug 1: Drag n Drop of an attachment to GyazMail icon on Toolbar or on
Dock does not work.

Bug 2: Download an attachment with right click and the Download Image
command does not work. The same item can be downloaded by drag n drop
to Finder window or Desktop. The Save Attachment command (right click)
does work.

Programmer/owner Goichi Hirakawa acknowledged bugs and says fix
coming.

Features in groups.io #MacSupportCentral

I thought it might be useful to start a thread on things that groups.io does better or differently than Yahoo Groups, or that Yahoo didn't do at all.

I'll start with moderation. By default all new members here are moderated, so their messages are held until accepted by a moderator. Once they become unmoderated, their messages go through automatically. At Yahoo a moderator would need to accept the message(s) and also separately change the moderation status, which required several steps. Here at groups.io, there is a very handy button under the list of messages held for moderation, "Accept and Unmoderate Senders". That is so sensible and saves a lot of time!

Syncing very slow..... #Syncing

I tried sending this via email, but for some reason it didn't go through. ?I'm sending now directly from groups.io

Good morning all,

Since updating both my iMac (2013) to Catalina, and my iPhone 7+ to 13.1.3 my Notes are not syncing as they use to.

They still sync, but it¡¯s extremely slow, sometimes not happening until overnight while my phone is plugged in charging.

It doesn¡¯t matter if I add/change a note on my phone or Mac, either way it¡¯s extremely slow to sync.

I rely on my Notes for everything, and I do mean everything! ?

I have 171 notes.

I have turned off syncing on my phone (Settings/Apple ID/iCloud/Notes), and on my Mac, and shut down both. ?This removed all my Notes and it took nearly an hour for them to re-appear on both devices.. ?

Calendar has been having somewhat of the same issue with syncing, but not quite as bad.

Any suggestions to speed up syncing would be greatly appreciated.

Janet
