Here's something that describes the old and new. Apparently little magnifying glass is the old way, and the cursor that gets taller if you hold on it a moment (which you can then drag) is the new way. ? The new way is supposed to be easier for most people once they get used to it. If seeing the text is a problem, there's always Zoom under Accessibility in Settings.
I guess I never really thought about it, just did whatever I had to that gave the result I wanted. So for me, the change is minor, maybe easier.

Howdy.
What's a text loop?
On iOS, have you tried a somewhat new text/keyboard feature for moving
the cursor?? ?
Press the spacebar just slightly longer than usual and you can then
using the spacebar as a sort of track pad to move the cursor in almost
any direction to correct errors or add or remove text.

Has anybody else noticed that in the latest download for iPad (IOS
13.2), there is no text loop available when trying to edit text?
There are a lot of changes in this particular software update, and
it's going to take me some time to get used to them, but the text
edit one seems like a downgrade to me. It's impossible to see where
the cursor is when my finger is in front of it without that
magnifying loop.
Does anyone know if there's a way to get the loop back or some kind
of workaround?
