Howdy.
Otto, the "Flag" menu has changed in more recent version of macOS X.
It's called the Input menu and now has a Square icon withe 4 little
hollow square in it.
Keyboard Viewer, as Otto says, is very convenient and has been around
in one form or another since 1984.
