Thank you. I don¡¯t like the idea of a subscription but I am happy to pay a one-time fee or even an annual subscription if inexpensive enough.
I don¡¯t know what Markdown is or WYSIWYG (I know what that stands for, but are you saying it¡¯s an actual app?).
The stuff I don¡¯t like about Notes is the lack of formatting. It¡¯s basic to the point of making it less functional. I also saw that Bear has Tags, which is great. I can¡¯t imagine why they would make you pay for syncing, though. Doesn¡¯t the Cloud take care of that?

I happened across a review for the software, Bear.Aesthetically, it pleases me quite a lot! I'm considering using it in place of Apple Notes.
I¡¯m wondering if anybody here has used it and what they think. How does it do for Notes? And is it at all good for something like researching to write a book?

It has family sharing with up to 6 family members, but in-app purchases are not shared.
OTOH, many commenters indicated that they enjoy the minimal interface.?
