Re: iPad Battery Life

Howdy.

Battery may need replacement.

Or, note that lithium Iron batteries sometimes lose the proper
calibration that is the real battery charge level and what is reported
on the charge/batter icon. This is usually fixed by letting the
battery run down so the iPad shuts itself down due to no battery
power. Then plug in and start it. Could help.

I have a 2017 iPad Mini 4. I noticed it loses its charge much quicker

getting old. But I don¡¯t quite understand how it works. Last night, I
had about 15-20% charge left when I closed the cover and put it on my
nightstand to go to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, the charge
was completely gone. I had to plug it in to see anything at all as
the unit would not even turn on. How does an iPad that¡¯s not being
used go from 15- 20% charge to nothing overnight? Is it because the
Wi-Fi is still working the whole time so it actually is using battery?

Am I correct that the battery on this is simply old? Do people get
new batteries for these things, or is it better to just get a new
iPad altogether? I still plan to use mine for a while longer yet, but
want to know what the best options are in this instance.
