In a way, it's similar – one communicates with net control using your own gear at your station and enjoy the great outdoors.? The differences I experienced from last year's event:
1) More civilized hours – later start time
2) More info gathering – organizers wanted the bib numbers and time
3) More team work at station – multiple comm specialists assigned to allow for at least one to scribe and another to report to NCS
4) More fun at aids station – volunteers at station were fun people: they dressed up in costume (fruit was the theme), and danced to music
