Thanks for the list. Now:- The ISL files are not recorded as they are zero bytes. Yes we DO say in the help file that all 4 files should be kept together and the reason is simple. It is far easier to tell people to save ALL the files than to be "picky". You can bet your life that if we had said just save the .xxx, .yyy,.zzz files then someone would save the wrong combination and then they would be in real trouble. So it is much easier to say save them ALL in the groups mentioned in the help file. So from the above items 07, 27, 31, 36, 40, 44 and 50 have been dealt with (7 files). Just why you have file numbers 12 to 24 I don't know - and are pointless. How they got into your Logger32 folder I have no idea... ( 13 files). As to the 4 Stats files - these can be regenerated by logger32 ( recalc) so there is no need to save them. (4 files) So that covers the additional 24 files that you are recording - using your method.. 73 de Geoff G3NPA Geoff.Anderson@... ----- Original Message -----

Logger32 does NOT overwrite DLL or whatever unless the installer allows it to do so. For every file that Logger32 finds it ALWAYS asks the question. As for most amateurs using Xp - well just try writing something that is Xp specific and see how many grumbles you get! No - I'm afraid I cannot agree with you on this particular point. 73 de Geoff G3NPA Geoff.Anderson@... ----- Original Message -----

1. I notice that all of the ISL file have a zero file size. If there is a description of the these files in the Help section, I missed it. 2. Right after I installed Logger32 for the first time, both the original and copy of files were present in the Logger32 folder. A puzzlement to me. 3. It has been stressed often that the ISD, ISF, ISL and ISM files should be kept together. At least that is what I understood. Thanks for the feedback Fabio. Absolutely I'll give it a try, in fact, I do this sort of thing often. Check out WinVNC here: It lets you log into another machine and access it as if you were looking at that machine's desktop. You can get it in various flavors: Windows, Linux, and Solaris. I have used the windows and Linux versions to log into my Windows box from Linux and vice-versa. It may not be exactly what you have in mind, but it does the trick. You can't drag files from that machine to your desktop very easy (but it can be done), you just have to think 'inside the box' for a change. Mark N9POA ----- Original Message -----

W2000 does not allow you to overwrite DLL's (thank god) so it will replace the overwritten systemfiles with the original ones and nothing changes... maybe you should try to install w2k service pack first. In general I will not install software that tries to overwrite system DLL's with W95/W98 trash. It is not a recommendation that L32 is developed for W98... there are better Windows versions around today. Don't think that most HAM's stick with W98.... most visitors to my web pages use XP already. 73, Arend ----- Original Message -----

US Counties - minor bug and QSL sent/received defaults
Hello all,
1), There is a minor bug when entering US county, nothing major, but needs to be addressed at some stage. Pick two US callsigns in the logbook. In the "STATE" field change/add state for the first one (let's say TN), then change/add state for the second callsign (let's say CA). Then move back to the first callsign and enter county "Hamilton" in the "COUNTY" field (valid county for TN). I got a message "HAMILTON does not appear to be a valid county in CA". The county is entered then with no problem. For some reason when entering a county Logger32, when checking the county, ignores the state in the "STATE" field for the callsign and looks at the last entered state, hence the message. Hope I explained the issue. 2). It would be nice to have "QSL sent" and "QSL received" fields to be populated automatically with "N" when QSO is entered. Currently they are blank and to change them to "N" I have to either manually enter "N" or use "Edit QSL info". 73! Andrei, de ZL1TM |

I don't think I'm quite in tune with you on this one John. What comments are you wanting to add during an ADI load?. Are you referring to the Logger16 NOTES? If so, there is a utility for converting Logger16 "notes" to Logger32 format called ConvertNotesToLogger32.exe. Now my memory is a little lacking on this one but I think this did not get sent out with the original set of files - but I believe you can grab a copy from the reflector files area if you need it. I have a couple of questions here:-

1) Logger32 was (and is) being developed on a Win98SE system so the included files would be from that era. Now what its the announcement actually saying/ Is it the the files you have already are more up to date that those provided or is it the other way round? If your files are more current, then keep them. 2) You say that when you run setup AGAIN .... Why do this? Is Logger32 not running for you - and if so, what is the problem? 73 de Geoff G3NPA Geoff.Anderson@... ----- Original Message -----

Now, Setupit gives the same result. Am I doing something wrong? |
