Re: LOGGER32 FILE BACKUP

Geoff:

Below is a comparison of the files I copy to my Iomega Zip drive and the files that are contained in the Logbook Zip and User Files Zip files produced by Logger32. In the column on the right, the files that are blank do not exist in the Logger32 zipped backup files. Also, below are some questions I have. I am not trying to be picky, I am just trying to understand the process. Thanks for bearing with me.

I have the following questions:

1. The help files and frequent mentions on the reflector state that all four of the ISD, ISF, ISL and ISM files should be kept together. Why are the ISL misssing from from the Logbook Zip and User Files Zip files?

2. Is it not necessary to copy the Copy of xxxxxx files? Apparently not as they are contained in the User Files Zip file.

3. Whay are the Stats32.xxx files not included in the User Files Zip file?

Al,

I don't know that you are missing anything. What I'm interested in is the
list of files you are recording which Logger32 doesn't. Now I know I should
be in a position to do this comparison, but the truth is that I have so many
files in my logger directory from trying to sort out other peoples problems
that I don't have a "virgin" set either in the main directory or in the
zipped files. The only way I could get back to this is to clear everything
out and do a re-install - and I really don't want to do that at the moment!!
So if you could tell me what the differences are please, I
can then tell you if you need to save them of not. If Bob has forgotten to
include some essential files, then I would like to know and the matter can
be corrected.

The file for the Logbook contains 3 files. Is the ISL not needed? The file
for the User Files contains 30 files. For a total of 33 files. When I copy
all the ISD, ISL, ISM, INI and DB files, I get a total of 52 files. Maybe it
is not necessary to copy the COPY OF XXXX.ISL, etc. files. What am I missing
here?
