Re: 2023 Annular Eclipse pictures

Nice work Tim.

We (HHZ, the fam and I) drove over to London TX (south of Mason) and with my phone camera through the paper glasses filter, I got some shots, not all lined up like yours, but we got the ring:
Emacs!

I bought a 12"x12" sheet of the film and this weekend will fit it to my Meade 220 8" telescope, and using a mount I 3D printed, will have my phone attached precisely to the eyepiece to get shots next monday.
I took the day off, as this will probably be my only chance to experience one, the next one over the USA is like 2040-something, who knows if Ill make it that long.
(grandparents made it to 70, dad made it to 80, but Ill probably get hit by an asteroid between now and then :-)? )

Hi, Hambuds!

?? Well, after many tries and experimentation, I have come up with two sequences of the Annular Eclipse last October.? My camera's filter showed the Sun in white, but my (and most) solar glasses show the Sun in gold, so I modifed one image to be close to the color we saw with our solar glasses.? I took over 50 pictures, and tried making images with most of them.? Cutting the number of images down really helped, I think.

?? The middle image shows once again that location is everything!!? Because I did not travel west to be in the middle of the shadow, the most coverage of the moon shows a cresent instead of a ring, which are the images printed in magazines.? Hopefully I can be in a good enough location in April to catch complete coverage of the Sun by the moon from my perspective.

?? Enjoy!? Any comments apreciated.

?? Hope to see you at breakfast tomorrow.? Happy Easter!
