Re: Looking for soil stabilization products
I hope so. The Triple Tree people worked on the runway for several years before the first airplane was allowed to be on it. We don¡¯t have that time? On Tue, May 6, 2025 at 15:07 Leo Dringoli via <dringoli=[email protected]> wrote:

Here are a couple of examples of the products I¡¯ve found.? We don¡¯t want to use gravel and need something that will allow drainage without erosion.? Looking for soil stabilization products
Put your thinking cap on . . . We need to grade and stabilize the soil in the area in front (runway side) of the Museum hangar. The old fuel shed is going to be removed as soon as we can find help to do that. Volunteer?
First, though we have to clean the construction debris out of the museum hangar. Mark and I will get started tomorrow after a day off. It won¡¯t take a lot of strenuous work - just a few hours time and we can begin accepting more airplanes . . . Tim Anderson has his 182 there now and Jacob¡¯s 182 will be moved into his space on Wednesday evening. Bill Walker is flying his Cirrus in tomorrow (Tuesday) evening for a couple of days and will likely be in one of the runway-side spaces this visit if the ground dries out enough and if we can move the pallets from the doors out of the way.? Once the asphalt taxiway is installed we will have a little less stress about moving airplanes . . .? -Alex |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýFantastic. Questions while watching: Who is funding this? What¡¯s the eventual cost with this one-off engine, avionics, tooling and R&D? Who are going to buy it? These guys have a gross amount of faith and wish them well. Did they make their May 1 deadline? On May 5, 2025, at 10:29?AM, Mark Cigal via groups.io <mcigal38@...> wrote:

Very fun. Great to see the Helio looks like it will make a return to service.? These guys are a pair of savvy dudes. I¡¯ve been to Birchwood many times.? It¡¯s airplane Mecca.? Hundreds of airplanes tied down in rows.? It¡¯s easy to spend a few hours just walking the ramp(s). We did a takeoff on the pavement, but landed on the pea gravel parallel runway.? It was my first exposure to the cost of Tundra Tires - and the means taken to protect ¡®em.? The joke is every landing on pavement costs $50. How sad!! That's no way to land on a golf course.? Could tear up the fairway and ruin someone's putt.? No consideration at all.

Welcome Mike Cosner!
Mike joins us after a long career with FEDEX - retiring after holding seniority number 1 for his last 7 years. He flies a Twin Comanche back and forth to and from Pensacola and will be in the Museum hangar in spot #4 (north end, facing the runway) if and when the grass dries out.
A side note . . . Mike¡¯s name sounded familiar when Mark gave it to me . . I had a younger flight instructor in Orlando in the 1972ish time frame named Mike Cosner and Lo and Behold. . . . . Glad to have you with us, Mike. Now I have a good excuse for my landings after you taught me. -Alex |
