Re: FAA Statement about Newark
¡as have all FAA administrators since Halaby. To be fair, they¡¯ve all had to deal with a ponderous bureaucracy, made more so by the requirements for unassailable perfection on the part of designers, engineers, fabricators and operators. It¡¯s a razor¡¯s edge - the better you are, the better you have to be. It doesn¡¯t leave much room for the human factor. Re: Jon Smith¡¯s Pipistrel Virus
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI don't know what happened.? I caught the Pipistrel bug.? It's such a neat aircraft.? She is a Virus sw100 taildragger, 100hp Rotax 912uls, constant speed MT prop. Some of these are registered as gliders, some are airplanes.? Some big advantages with the glider reg, but mine is an airplane. It doesn't quite feel like a glider to me, based on my <5 hrs
glider time (Mike Cola can make that call).? But the 35' wing does
really, really love to fly.? Like a glider, it would be
problematic without the spoilers.? With them, it's magical.? Dead
stick landings would be very comfortable. On 5/15/25 7:32 PM, Alex Nelon via
