Re: Anyone know what these are?
Are you looking at the phenolic sleeve? I never thought they were part of the tool but I suppose that’s a possibility. Oddly enough they all have that slit except for the one labeled as -13. I always assumed it was there to make them easier to remove from the sleeve.?
All of the sleeves measure approximately the same. 3/4 necking down to 5/8.?

See the slit down the length of that OD?? That certainly looks like an allowance for expansion.

G&G How to Really Clean Pollen Off Your Porch

Now you’ve done it. Anina wants me to hose off the porch today and now you come up with this crappy looking tug that matches my custom Cigal model. I guess my tug will get hosed down too. (I’m still trying to figure out a way to rig a dolly-like arrangement for nosegear that will be effective. Almost have it, then it slips away into the ether).

I have the minimax. Stripped the drive shaft trying to get the 182 over a 1/4” hill. Luckily I have a mill and lathe and made a new shaft in a couple hours. I didn’t modify the design so I’m sure it’ll strip again. The harbor freight Pittsburgh “coupling” seems fine though.?
It slips on dirt, grass, concrete, and pavement. Wet or dry.
It prefers to be disconnected and takes every opportunity to fall off the nose gear it can. It’s also a bit too low and loves to rub the paint off the pant.?
When not falling off the nose gear the turning radius is somewhat better than one of those land trains you see in Australia.?
The dewalt drill motor has three speeds to choose from: too slow with enough torque to spin the wheels while keeping the plane stationary. This is the best setting to strip the drive shaft. A bit too fast but still unable to move the plane. I have no use for this speed. And way too fast while still unable to move the plane. This setting is best for leaving skid marks and moving the unit 5’ across the hangar until you realize it’s slower than picking the thing up and walking it over to stow.?
On the plus side it had enough gravity in it to not float away in the flood.?
