I'm thinking of going to the hangar to nuke a breakfast biscuit and make a cup of coffee. It should be a nice morning.

Re: deHavilland Beaver video

I can usually overlook things like that but last night I was watching a program on WWII and had to turn it off after seeing the images of B-17s implied as German, US uniforms being passed as Soviet, German or other, 5 star Generals all over the place. It occurred to me that not only was this “history” put together by people who didn’t know anything about history, it is being watched by people who will carry that forward. I just have to shake my head.?

Leo,

You're correct!? I didn't catch the misstatement of the R-985 as "rotary", rather than the correct "radial".? By that definition, the Wankel should not be called a rotary engine, as its crankshaft rotates.

I found this recently posted Beaver documentary nostalgic, having listened daily for 40 years to the sweet sound of the R-985-powered Beaver float planes flying overhead in North Seattle from Kenmore Air Harbor and Lake Union Air.? I taxied a Beaver at a local community college while taking A&P classes, which is as close to flying in one as I've gotten.? I miss the sound and taking a flight is on my to-do list the next time I get to Seattle.

Mark,

Counter-clockwise turns would be turning to the left, which is not permitted until November ... at least. ???
