Drove to Knoxville and back yesterday. Traffic was god awful. I-40 is essentially a 2 lane road with interstate volume. It¡¯s going to be years before they can get it fixed.?

Everyone,

?

I would like to make everyone aware our annual Fly-In and Open House will be on June 7 from 10:00 till 14:00. I am attaching a flier for you to share with any of your friends or pilots you think may be interested in joining us or to share across your social media accounts.

Please come out for some comradery and a good BBQ sandwich. Our flier mentions a fuel discount of .25 per gallon but look to the sign at the temporary tower for the correct self-serve price. We are also never too skilled to learn something new, please join us for the FAA Safety event in the terminal conference room at 11:00 for a safety refresher. As always, we have many people who know little to nothing about aviation but just love airplanes, especially children. We can always use extra eyes on the ramp to keep everyone safe in an active airport environment as planes taxi in and out.

As a note, airplane rides will not be available at the Fly-In this year due to unforeseen circumstances from our provider. Helicopter rides will be available though.

?

Thank you for your continued support and participation in our airport community,

Happy Sunday, Steve,
All,

I'm fresh out of 200 ohm singles, lol, but have a solution, so long as you can accommodate a bit more volume with four small resistors configured in a bundle/close staggered "hug" vs. a single resistor:

Take this fresh pack of 820 ohm-ers (which I'll never use) and put four in parallel.? They're each rated at 1/2 watt, so you meet that power/heat dissipation requirement.? You'll end up with 205 ohms equivalent resistance, which gets you more precision (2.5%) compared to a typical, single resistor's tolerance of 5-10%,

190-210 ohms for your case at 5%.

Happy to solder them together for you so you have a "plug-and-play" single resistor equivalent to 205 ohms if you'd?like.

Let me know!

Dave

Airfield runway ¡°X¡±s

If you¡¯re out at the airfield today would you take up the folding ¡°X¡±s on Johnson Field? If you have a truck and can bring them to the Museum Hangar apron we¡¯ll put them away.

The only ropes that need to be left up are the ones from the corner of Mark¡¯s and my hangar to the old fuel shed. We¡¯ll string one from there to the SE corner of the Museum hangar apron. This is to prevent vehicular traffic on that area of the swamp so it can heal up a bit.

Thanks

Alex
