Where is this airplane??

Normal takeoff begins with full flaps, 18 degrees.? You are to transition from 18 degrees straight to -5 degrees at 400' agl. ?

The book says 147kts TAS with the wheelpants and small tires, with a loss of 13kts w/o wheel pants.? I saw low 130s with pant-less bush tires, so the claimed numbers seem attainable.? It will be interesting how much more glider-like it feels with the pants.? For now, I want the drag!

Another fun tidbit - it's useful load (650 lbs) is greater than it's empty weight (640 lbs), i.e. it can lift itself.

I am smitten :)

Getting insured was a expensive nightmare but that's another story, just thrilled with the plane now.? It's good to be back at the airport.

Pipistrel Virus

Yes Jon Smith! It is easy to catch the Pipistrel Bug! A beautiful airplane! This one was certified as a glider! It is quick. This was for a Light Sport Glider Add On! Glide ratio is about 17 to 1. A joy to fly! If I remember this one also had a ballistic chute!

It is an honor to share a life with Sid. I saw that sentiment in the faces of those who shared themselves in honoring Sid recently. Thank you.
